I have 2 of these units, they work great. But after a windows update the hdmi ports suddenly stopped working. My solution was going into the bios and disabling secure boot after setting your security password of course. After that booting up the monitors came right up again.

This is the second one bought. The first one worked so well and was such a little work horse, I was upset when I spilled water on it. Make sure you have air flow around it so it doesn't get overheated but for the cost it works as well as the name brand docking station that I have at work and actually better. The one at work only allows for 1 monitor. This allows for 2 HDMI monitors. Totally recommend! ... show more

Stopped functioning properly within 2 months - flickering HDMI ports with known working cables and different monitor combinations. Edit: Vendor reached out for refund on the equipment. Thought this was going to be the best thing ever for my work setup. However, when I hooked up my 3 monitors (VGA to HDMI), the resolution on my main monitor could not be adjusted no matter what I did. So instead of using all 3 HDMI ports, I'm only using 2 and the 3rd HDMI is connected to the HDMI port on my laptop which is what I wanted to avoid by buying this product. Adding a USB adapter to the 3rd HDMI is not an option as I hate buying more stuff just to get this to work and hate the wire clutter. Not to mention I had to buy a 100w power adapter for for it since that is what they said it needed. If I can't figure out how to fix the resolution issue, I'll be returning this thing. ... show more

Long story short. First of all I'm not a shill for this product. However, I bought one for my wife, which worked great, then I bought two for myself, so I could set up a basically identical experience at work and at home. Again, long story short, it works! However, pay close attention to the disclaimer: "100W Power Charging Port (87W Safety)" This means that you can only plug a 100W charger in to it safely. Most chargers are 120W nowadays. I plugged a 120W charger (Dell) in to this hub, my primary hub, and got good results for about 2 months. The unit was in a closed desk drawer. After a few months, it won't display video out unless my charger is plugged in to the laptop instead of the hub. I think my charger overloaded the hub. It seems like having my charger plugged in to the hub, then having the hub plugged in to my computer, the video wont display on the output monitors. I attribute this to overloading the hub with a bigger charger than expected. Anyway, that didn't happen with the second hub using an off brand laptop charger. A generic charger from amazon and the hub being out in the open result in a low heat, seamless experience. This is a good hub. It still works. The one I have at work seems great after four or five months. The one I broke with a big charger still works, as long as I don't plug the big charger in to it anymore (I just plug the charger in to the computer directly). Even though I get a warning at work that its only charging at 100W instead of the factory default of 120W, that's what the hub documentation says it should be, and it still keeps my laptop charged. ::IMPORTANT:: Final note: I also thought that the video out (HDMI) was failing, but after a bit of research I found that the way to solve most video problems with this hub is to do a HARD reboot of your laptop (Windows 11). Not a Restart, but a full Power Off, then press the button to turn your computer on. Re-post and share because that basically fixes everything that can go wrong with this device. ... show more

Edit: Added 2 stars based on the customer service experience alone. The item may not have worked, but they gave a full refund, checked to make sure there wasn't any firmware updates that might have helped, and were the most responsive seller I've ever worked with. I've had other USB hubs from this company that were just fine, but apparently quality has gone SEVERELY downhill. The external monitor (HDMI) keeps cutting out mid-use, and the new USB hub is the only thing on the system that's changed. Doesn't matter which HDMI port on the thing I use. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for your hub needs. ... show more

Ok, so I have purchased a few more of these ... what can I say - they work! Yes, I am a real person from MN, no I am not getting a kickback from the MFG (would be nice... hey, it was on sale this time!). In terms of usage, I have not had a failure yet [~3 years since my first] (neither has my mom, my son recieves his for Xmas this year - will update if he has any issues, not expecting any). I use these for both single and dual display monitors. They support the higher resolution of my monitors (4k - 3840 x 2160 Pixels), they do not over heat, they are easy to use and reliable. So, buy one if you need one, they have work great for me with the following types of laptops - ACER Inspice, Dell Lattitude, Leveno Legion, and a few other higher perfomance dell gaming laptops. [I game, 3D design - Fusion 360, video edit, and do high res image manipulations; not to mention my FT job with these USB docks.] ***** {Old review...} This is my 3rd MOKiN USBC dockign station; and in short order I will be pruchaing a 4th. I have tried a few others that have over heating problems and this one is stable! I have purchased two for myself (I work at home and travel to the offcie and have one in each location); I purchased one for my mother, and I am buying another for my son in college.
