  • Impressive Power, Handle with Care
Style: Chainsaw
I recently purchased the Oregon electric chainsaw, and I must say, I was blown away by its power. However, I learned a valuable lesson about respecting its capabilities. In my excitement, I pushed it beyond its intended use, causing it to overheat and sustain damage. But here's where the story takes a turn for the better: Amazon's exceptional customer service replaced it the very next day. The sheer power of this chainsaw is truly impressive. It can tackle a wide range of tasks with ease, from pruning branches to cutting firewood. However, it's essential to remember that even the most robust tools have their limits. Overuse can lead to overheating and potential damage, as I learned firsthand. Despite my initial mishap, I couldn't be more satisfied with this chainsaw. Its performance is unmatched, and Amazon's swift replacement process speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. Moving forward, I'll be sure to use it with the care and respect it deserves, treating it like the fine tool it is. If you're in the market for a powerful electric chainsaw, look no further than the Oregon. Just remember to wield it with care, and you'll be rewarded with outstanding performance and reliability. ... show more

  • Great value for the cost.
Style: Chainsaw
I have used this chainsaw for a few days now while building a log cabin. I got this because I use a generator on-site so it would be handy to use an electric chainsaw instead of gas so I thought I'd take a chance on this chainsaw since it had many good reviews. Overall I am more than happy with how it has performed. It is definitely not as well made as the Stihl gas saw I use. The build is fairly light with a fair amount of plastic. The chain guide is 18 inches and does flex a bit when using it. Lightweight use. But, like I said, overall I'm very very happy with this chainsaw. Oh, and the chain is very sharp and easy to keep sharp with the built in sharpener. I now tend to use this saw instead of my Stihl saw whenever I can. Since I haven't used it to it's death I don't know about the longevity but like I said, it's lightly made. ... show more

  • Amazingly powerful and tough
Style: Chainsaw
At first I wasn't sure if this chainsaw would do a thorough job of cutting trees, but it exceeded my expectations. I felled three 90-year old (based on counting rings) ash trees with trunks about 26 to 32 inches in diameter. Cut all branches and cut all the trunks down to 18" sections for firewood with this saw. Really outstanding tool! I wasn't sure if the self-sharpening feature was a gimmick or something that would be useful, and I found it to be a really great feature. It works well! No pull starting, it's quiet when I set it down, it doesn't need a tune up and doesn't need 2-cycle oil mixture, doesn't make a bunch of noise, and no spark plugs to change, no gummed up carburetors to fidget with, and it has instant torque. For a small property owner like me with just a few trees to occasionally take care of, I will never go back to gas powered again. Keep in mind I have a generator and a 100' power cord with thick (low gauge) wire. You absolutely must get a thicker gauge power cord for this saw (per manufacturer recommendations), so remember to figure that in to your expenses. I also use a special grade chain lube for colder weather - and would not recommend running this saw (or any saw) in cold weather without a thinner viscosity lube. Overall a fantastic product for an awesome price. By the way, I just purchased my second one. Want to have a spare in the rare case I get one pinched (jammed) and need a spare to cut my way out of a the problem. ... show more

  • Revolutionize Your Chainsaw Experience
Style: Chainsaw
Are you tired of dull chainsaws that require constant maintenance and sharpening? Look no further than the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw! As someone who has had their fair share of frustrating experiences with chainsaws, I can confidently say that the Oregon CS1500 is a game-changer. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, but it also has an integrated self-sharpening system called PowerSharp. Yes, you read that right, it sharpens itself! No more stopping mid-task to manually sharpen your chainsaw. But let's back up a bit. When I first received the chainsaw, I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight it was. I was worried it might be too heavy for me to handle, but it was surprisingly manageable. The 18-inch blade was the perfect size for the tasks I had in mind, and the 15 Amp motor made quick work of even the thickest branches. Now, let's talk about the PowerSharp system. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after using it a few times, I can confidently say that it works like a charm. When the chain starts to dull, simply pull the red PowerSharp lever for 3-5 seconds, and voila! Your chain is sharpened and ready to go. It's like having your own personal chainsaw sharpener built right into the tool. But wait, there's more! The chainsaw also has an automatic oiling system, so you don't have to worry about constantly checking and refilling the oil. And if you do run into any issues, the Oregon CS1500 comes with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. Now, I have to admit, I did encounter a few minor issues with the chainsaw. For one, the power cord is a bit on the shorter side, so you may need an extension cord depending on the location of your work area. Additionally, the chainsaw is corded, so you will need access to an outlet to use it. However, these issues were easily resolved, and they didn't detract from my overall satisfaction with the product. One thing I particularly appreciated about the Oregon CS1500 was how straightforward it was to use. Even if you're not particularly handy or experienced with chainsaws, you should have no problem figuring out how to operate it. The instructions are clear and concise, and the chainsaw itself is very user-friendly. As for the performance of the chainsaw, I have nothing but positive things to say. It cut through branches and logs with ease, and the self-sharpening feature really does make a noticeable difference in the quality of the cuts. The noise level was also fairly reasonable for a chainsaw, which is a nice bonus if you're working in a residential area. Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the customer service team at Oregon. When I had an issue with the chainsaw shortly after purchasing it, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. They even sent me a replacement part free of charge, which was much appreciated. In terms of safety, the Oregon CS1500 also has some great features that put my mind at ease. The chain brake stops the chain in case of kickback, which can be a lifesaver if you're not paying attention or if something unexpected happens. There's also a lockout button that prevents accidental start-ups, which is a nice touch. One thing to keep in mind is that, like any chainsaw, the Oregon CS1500 can be dangerous if not used properly. Make sure to read and follow the safety instructions carefully, and always wear appropriate protective gear (such as eye and ear protection, gloves, and sturdy clothing) when operating the tool. Now, for the storytelling and funny aspect of the review... I have to admit, there's not a lot of room for humor when it comes to chainsaws. But I can tell you a little story about how the Oregon CS1500 saved the day (and a whole lot of hassle) for me recently. I was working on a DIY project that involved cutting down some branches in my backyard. I had been using a different chainsaw that was frustratingly dull and difficult to use, and I was getting pretty fed up. That's when the Oregon CS1500 arrived on my doorstep. I eagerly unpacked the chainsaw and put it to the test. I was immediately impressed by how easy it was to use and how smoothly it cut through the branches. But the real magic happened when I needed to sharpen the chain. With my old chainsaw, sharpening the chain was always a huge hassle. I had to stop what I was doing, take the chain off the saw, manually sharpen it (which was a whole process in itself), and then put the chain back on. It was time-consuming and frustrating. But with the Oregon CS1500, sharpening the chain was a breeze. I simply pulled the PowerSharp lever for a few seconds, and the chain was good as new. It was so quick and easy that I didn't even have to take a break from my project. In the end, the Oregon CS1500 saved me a ton of time and hassle, and made my DIY project much more enjoyable. And if that's not a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is! Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw. It's a game-changer in the world of chainsaws, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use tool that takes the hassle out of chainsaw maintenance. 4 out of 5 stars! ... show more
