I have an old Echo CS-5000, and needed a new 20" bar and chain. Bought one from Tractor Supply, who assured me it was the right one. Well the pitch was not right, so I got my money back. So after carefully checking all the numbers I bought this set from Amazon. It fits and works well.

It didn't take long for the bar on my Chinese saw to get out of whack. My saw began cutting at a distinct angle. New chains didn't help. This Oregon 20" bar and H78 chain fixed the problem. If your saw is bogging down in the middle of a large round; or if it is cutting on a slant, it might be time to consider a new bar. Yes, some experts know how to "dress" a bar to keep it square and level. But, for $35 bucks, I simply placed an order with Amazon and got a quality chain and bar delivered to my door. This item also fits a 20" Remington Outlaw. I can't speak for any other models. Always check the specs of your old saw bar, and exactly match that to any new bar you purchase. ... show more

I’ve always been a fan of Oregon chains so recently I decided to buy a new Oregon bar for my 25-year-old craftsman chainsaw and I tried it out today on some 20 inch logs and it worked amazing my dad has stihl chainsaw and I wanted to keep his old 25-year-old chainsaw alive so I bought a new bar chain and tensioner and this bar and chain really helped to put new life into that saw. I am so happy to keep that around would definitely recommend this bar and chain to anyone who is looking to repair their chainsaw. Just make sure that this bar and chain will fit your current saw that you are using for me it fit great ... show more

    • It's description and the #on the front of the case said it's for my saw but doesn't fit and can't exchange it now, wasted money.

I bought these and got them July 29th. They said they fit Echo 18" saws. Well imagine my surprise yesterday when my son and I were out cutting firewood for the winter and I went to put one on my saw and it is way to long. My saw is an 18 " so hmm, someone tell me what's up. I just got on to try and return them and it says my return window is closed. I have bought stuff for my saws and put in my wood cutting tool box and then not used until time to cut. When you order something that is advertised for what you need, you don't know it doesn't fit until you go to use it, and then you can't trade it in for something that will work. If the description and the front of the case had not said it was for my 18" Echo I would not have bought it. This is terrible now I am out $36 for an item I cannot and will never use. I must say I am very disappointed in Amazon for this purchase and this is the first time I have not been pleased with them This is going to make me rethink buying from them from now on. ... show more

I purchased this bar to convert my 16” Echo to a 20”chain. It is a solid bar and the front axle/pulley assembly feels smooth. I have not cut any wood yet but will update when I get a chance to rip through some firewood Inneed to shorten.
