I usually keep my keys in the same place, but at times of stress I put them down and cannot remember where they are. This product and app is perfect for all of us. Orbit is a Bluetooth device, with an app that finds everyday items - like keys, glasses, and wallet. Via the app, you can check the map for Orbits last known location and time. You can also find your phone with Orbit. Press Orbit to make your phone ring - even when it’s silent. Download the free app, and find your keys with your phone or find your phone on your orbit, it will ring your phone—even if it is on silent mode. You can see the last location on the map via the app. "Orbit has a signal of a 100-foot radius. It’s cheap for a reason. The battery it came with died within a day and needed to be changed - so the extra battery it came with isn’t really ‘extra’. That app is horrible and settings are limited. I’m keeping it turned off until I need it when i travel or go hiking or whatever. Everyday use, for me, is not practical

My boyfriend has one as well and we both have the problem where the Orbit loses connection with our phone sometimes which defeats the whole purpose of having it. It has a feature where it’ll ring if it believes it’s getting too far from the phone, but since they lose connection so often, I turned it off to keep it from ringing every few minutes. Also expect to hear your phone to ring every couple minutes if you have tight pockets. My boyfriend had that issue when Orbit button kept being pressed by accident when he had his keys in his pocket. Despite all this, it has had its moments of usefulness (particularly for him - I gave one to him so he could stop asking me where his phone’s at and start asking Orbit). My phone didn’t respond in one of my more dire moments though as I desperately pressed the Orbit button, hopelessly listening for a ring. It’s a very hit or miss piece of tech that i wouldn’t say is worth the money. I used to have Tile though, similarly priced but much more consistent and effective. I would say the one thing I like about Orbit over Tile is Orbit’s changeable battery. With Orbit, you keep your device, just change the battery, but for Tile once the battery dies after a year you have to pay a whole $25 for an entirely new one.

There's someone in my life that has a habit of losing keys and phones at least once a week. I bought this as a gift and she was able to set it up in just a couple of minutes. The key ring is small and manageable, and it comes with a spare battery and a few little accessories that are helpful. It really is great that you can use the key ring to make your phone ring, and you can use your phone to make the key ring chime too. If you lose both your keys and your phone. . . you may be in trouble. I haven't figured out if the app that run this device can be set on more than one device at a time. If so, that is yet another layer of protection from losing things. If you lose things, this is one solution. It is not the cheapest thing that I have seen, but it is certainly one of the best. I hope that it is durable and that it can handle being on a key chain without being damaged. We will see.

Seems some buyers do not realize the "tool" to open the Orbit consists of the 2 round plastic pieces included in the package. They look like packaging, but they actually do open it. Do not throw them away! Once you replace the battery, it is a little tricky to reseal. I found it easiest when I placed it on top of a rubber jar opener or similar sticky surface to hold the bottom side steady. Then twisting it clockwise closed it right up. I also like the little hole where it can be easily attached to my key ring.

Just received Orbit. The disc was scratched before I opened it. I understand that it will become scratched over time but not brand new. Also it comes with a battery installed and an extra one-BOTH batteries were low/dead. Wish I would have known-I would have bought batteries. I am disappointed -now I have a useless key ring.
