If you want to use your B-Hyve system with your smart home and other smart weather features, then you need this. Its easily concealed due it its small size, and it doesn't block the other outlet like some electronics do. I took one star away because I actually had to buy two of them to get coverage from my b-hyve smart controls in the front yard and in the backyard. Trying to put this in the middle of my house to hopefully get reception to all devices didn't work. The price is reasonable, this wasn't a huge deal. They should provide some additional documentation on range limits and how many walls/materials you need the WIFI to manage. ... show more

    • Poor signal range! Be aware
The biggest issue for me was the range of this thing. Let me explain…I have two separate 4-port timers that are located on opposite sides of the house - one on the east and one on the West. The hub is unable to connect to both timers simultaneously - simply can’t reach the two due to its lack of range. I tried different location, different outlets throughout the house - no luck. It could only get one or another, but not both at the same time. I had to move the hub to a different outlet to be able to control the other timer. I had to buy additional hub to get the job done. When the hub is relatively close to a timer - everything works as prescribed. Let’s talk about the APP. It is pretty terrible! I cannot stress enough how incredibly inefficient the app is considering that all the hardware and technology is capable of doing the job right. Whoever programmed it has no clue what convenience and common sense is. Overcomplicated, none-intuitive horrible interface, horrible programming options of the timers, just horrible all the way around. The app needs a complete re-haul. Fire those who designed it! Conclusion: The hub has a very limited range, be aware! My mid point between the timers (east and west) was barely 20 feet! That’s only 20 feet to either of the timers! Especially if you have a brick house, plaster walls, etc. like in my house. The device’s signal cannot penetrate through the walls. That’s not to mention that I can pick up a wireless internet signal all around my house and outside of it with ease and all of my devices work flawlessly. I have a wireless mesh system in my house. In reality this device should not even exist! In perfect world the timers should be able to connect to your phone using a wireless network of your internet from ANYWHERE just like I open my garage door from my phone even if I’m a 1000 miles away from my house. OK, now I have complete control over my Orbit B-Hyve 4-port hose controller. Before the hub, I was never sure the controller was doing exactly what I wanted, it seemed to go on and off with no real reason. Now, WITH the hub, it does exactly what I program it to do.     • Game changer.
Definitely an upgrade. I have the six station controller for the zones close to the house and used a four zone hose timer on the back lot to control those sprinkler zones. This made it much easier. Now I can water my lawn from anywhere.

This is a game changer. It makes it really easy to control the system from anywhere in house. The standard bluetooth connection was quirky and limited in range. But with the addition of the wifi, I can control from anywhere.
