I had an original iO9 that the battery gave out after a few years of use. I liked it and wanted a replacement but didn't want to spend so much. I got it iO3, the cheapest model and have no regrets. I didn't use all the features of the old one anyways. This is perfect as it does the job without all the fluff. I miss that there is no battery meter but other then that this is better then the original one. This model is not as sensitive so using it is much easier, the old one would light up red indicating too much pressure even with only the slightest pressure. This one I can use and get a better scrubbing action as it doesn't turn red as fast. I think this is the sweetspot in their lineup as how needs a bluetooth toothbrush...lol. Once I began using this type of toothbrush, I received better checkup results at the dentist. When I ordered this one as a replacement, it ends up that I had ordered the model below the one I initially used (minus all the extra bells and whistles that I never utilized), but it does the job and works just as well. This is my first experience with an IO toothbrush from Oral-B. I had an electric toothbrush from way back in the day from Oral-B, and the design hasn't changed very much, which is a good thing. The rotating brush head does an excellent job of cleaning the teeth gently, and the bristles I found to offer a good soft experience. For me that is good because I have sensitive teeth, and I don't want to exacerbate any issues by brushing too hard, or over brushing. Compared to other electric toothbrushes, I noticed that this one was quite a bit quieter than the ones that I have experience with in the past. It has good design that allows you to reach all the areas of your mouth comfortably. Not all electric toothbrushes can say that. It charges on a dock, and comes with a lithium ion battery that I have found holds a charge very well, and can give me quite a few toothbrush cleanings from one charge. From what I have seen, the higher series of IO toothbrushes include a screen, that lets you know what settings you are using. This is something that I found a little frustrating, because I can't really tell what mode I'm in with this series 3 with no screen. There is a dedicated button for changing modes, but you can't select the mode before turning it on, you have to turn it on and then select the mode. I found that a little frustrating. A couple of things that I really liked are the timer, pacer, and pressure sensitivity reading. It really does help make sure that you cover all areas of your mouth, and do so effectively. A very clever feature is the pressure sensor, which indicates whether or not you are applying correct pressure via a light that will illuminate green, and if you are applying too much pressure which can be damaging to your teeth, it will illuminate red. I think that is a fantastic feature, and every electric toothbrush should have it. In the box I received one brush head, which does do an excellent job with its angled bristles of cleaning the teeth very effectively, especially along the gum line. The replacement heads are a little expensive in my opinion, but there is the benefit of being able to buy multiple different types of bristles to satisfy your brushing needs. Like I mentioned before, the battery lasts a pretty long time, in my opinion. I tend to be the type to always put it back on the charging stand, but I did test it out the first little while that I had received it after charging it fully, and found that I can go at least a week and a half on one charge. However, if you're like me, you'll likely leave it on the charging stand, so a dead electric toothbrush is never going to be a problem. It takes about 16 hours to fully charge, which seems like a long time if you ask me, however if you consider that it likely stays on the charging stand when not in use, that is a more than acceptable time frame to charge the battery. I say that because I believe it slow charges in order to save battery life over time. That's just a guess on my part, don't quote me on that one. All in all, as the lowest series of IO toothbrushes, it is for me the best electric toothbrush that I have tried, and used to date. I'm not sure what the price difference is between the 3 and the higher series’ of toothbrushes, but I would be curious to see whether or not the price difference would be worth it just to get the screen on the handle. I'm sure the ones that are of a higher series come with other features, so that might be worth considering too. I'm very pleased with it, and would feel safe recommending it, for maintaining excellent oral hygiene. ... show more
