I’ve been using this toothbrush for about four weeks now. I don’t use it every day, still addicted to my regular old toothbrush, but I do use it about five times a week. This is the first electric toothbrush I’ve ever used and I do like it. I feel like I am getting my teeth cleaner with this brush. It was recommended by my dentist as no matter how much brushing and flossing I do, my teeth still seem to accumulate tartar. I think this toothbrush is helping with that issue. I like that there are different settings, but I use the gum care setting as I have some bad gum recession. Initially, I tried to use the phone app while I brush my teeth, but I found this to be cumbersome and I didn’t really see a benefit from the app so I removed it, it isn’t necessary to use the app with the toothbrush. After reading many Amazon reviews before my purchase, I did not use the head that came with the brush. Instead, I purchased sensitive gum heads. In the Amazon reviews I read prior to the purchase, several people mentioned that keeping the toothbrush clean was an issue for them. This being my first electric toothbrush the only thing that I really know to do is to remove the head every time I use it and make sure I rinse the head inside and out, as well as the brush itself, using a Q-tip to get to all the areas of both. I haven't had an electric toothbrush in probably 5 years. I used to own a sonicare, and it didn't make much for a difference compared to a manual toothbrush. I think it had to do with just the small linear vibration. My dentist recommended Oral-B since it has a more compact rotating head. We decided to give it a try and wow! The results were immediate. It was like getting your teeth cleaned by the dentist. The head seemed to reach more, and did a more thorough job. The different modes are nice, though I usually use Gum Care because my gums are no longer used to an electric toothbrush. The toothbrush buzzes every 30 seconds to give you a heads up where you need to brush. The screen has a counter for you to tell as well. Afterwards you'll either get a smiley face for meeting the 2 minute mark, or a scolding frowny face for failing to meet the time. The top light ring is customizable to your favorite color if you have multiple toothbrushes. That same light turns red or green depending on the pressure during brushing. The Bluetooth feature is nice if you want to see how much time you're spending in one particular section or if you're not brushing properly. I don't use it as much as I probably should. The battery life so far has lasted more like 2-3 weeks. It's been nice when we go up north since we don't have to pack a charger. The travel case is compact and fits two brush heads. It looks like a eyeglass case. Cons: The only thing I dislike is the vent holes. There's nothing preventing the liquid from running through the inside vent and spilling out through the outside vent. It's a constant battle for us to try to avoid making a mess all over the counter and ourselves.. I'd recommend Oral-B to add a screen to only allow air to pass through. My husband had previously purchased a different brand of rechargeable toothbrush that I used for about 20 seconds because I hated it SO much. I disliked the other brand because it only had 2 modes and I hated both of them as they were too fast and just didn't work for me. I love the OralB IO Series 6 because of the features. First, I love the 5 modes and tend to lean toward sensitive and daily clean, but sometimes use whitening or intense too. I LOVE the way it leaves my teeth!. I also like the fact that it gently vibrates when you have spent sufficient time on one quadrant of your mouth, telling you to move on AND when you turn off the toothbrush if you have used the correct pressure - it gives you a little happy face. Also, there is a color indicator if your pressure is too light or too strong. Just LOVE IT! ... show more

Nice toothbrush. App feels A bit gimmicky but over all happy. Biggest negative is the Oral B IO replacement toothbrush heads are expensive, $25 and up. Oral B recommends changing every 3 months or sooner.

    • Really Improves Brushing

I wanted to go for a premium brush so I went with the Oral-B iO series. This series 6 has really made my teeth feel clean, while putting really little effort in doing so compared to the really cheap electric brushes and regular brushes I have used in the past. The bristles are not harsh and the pressure sensor is a very nice feature. And of course the timer is great too, but most electric brushes have that. There is also an interactive app for the brushing process if you care to optimize you brushing I guess, but honestly is probably just a "gimmicky" feature. After doing research I came to the conclusion that of all the Oral-B iO series electric toothbrushes, the series 6 is the most worth it for the money. All the brushes essentially work the same, with the differences being that the 7,8,9 have magnetic charging stands while the 6 has a pin-like charging stand (which is equally as simple to use) and that the 8 and 9 have a few more negligible modes and colored screens rather than the black and white screen on the 6 and 7 (equally as bright). The 9 is the only one with a charging case, but its a proprietary connection. There is also a difference in battery life, but they all last for multiple weeks so it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things to me personally . In conclusion, the Oral-B iO series 6 is a really good electric tooth brush that does indeed improve your brushing, and is also the best value in my opinion among the iO series. If there was one thing I wish it had was a charging case with a normal port connection like usb A or C (preferably). ... show more
