This fan was my choice because of the grill. I have pets and need to clean the blades often. I hate a fan that requires screw drivers to get the front grill off. The sliding clips are a much easier option. The remote is a crap shoot. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I never had a fan with a remote before so I'm not depending on it. This is a powerful fan. Even on low it moves a lot of air. I had it on high for a few seconds and could not believe the airflow and the noise. It made me laugh. I won't need "high" very much but its nice to have it available for those really sticky days. Most unusual is the ability to set natural wind, sleep wind and normal wind. I read those words in the manual and just thought it was an odd oriental manual language useage. When I got to those settings by mistake, I thought the fan was going to die. The fan will run for 5 seconds and then stop for 5 seconds. I thought it was silly, but it is quiet and effective. I may use it. I haven't had it very long but so far I'm impressed. ... show more

    • Stopped working after four months
Worked fine for almost four months and then just stopped working. All the pretty lights light and the beeps beep but fan blade does not move. Motor housing was warm when it stopped working so I unplugged for six hours in case it was a thermal issue that would reset but same results. Actually Optimus is a fan I really like, it is quiet running and usually easy to put together, however this fan was delivered in a box that was repackaged and the box was taped with probably a half of a roll of packing tape. I took the fan out of the box and the spring that keeps the fan in place was laying loose in the box. After assembling the fan the oscillating works however it clicks with every turn and the only thing I can do is buy another because this fan type is the best I have found! This fan was a disappointment , it arrived and was easy to set up, however it leans and the MODE function is complicated, this fan remote does not always work. I'm sorry I brought it.

Warning !!!! This fan is not a normal bedroom fan ! Even on its lowest and slowest setting it blows hard enough to make my motorcycle jealous ! Seriously , if your looking for a gentle fan to set on your nightstand to help ease your Tinnitus, this one is just too much. This is the best fan I've ever had. We got this exact fan a couple years ago and it finally pooped out this week after being run all night every night for 2 years. The amount of air it puts out is amazing. This is the only fan I will buy as long as they keep making them. The remote is a nice feature too since it's the bedroom fan. You just lie down, turn it on and go to sleep. If someone is looking for something that just puts out a little air, this might be too much. I ordered this fan for my elderly mother that lives in another state. I went to visit her only to find that the fan stopped working about a month and a half ago. It was delivered to her house in June. I have never heard of a fan breaking down in such a short time frame. I have had fans for years and years. This is an absolute disappointment on so many levels.
