Description

Optima D75/25 YellowTop battery provides the extra performance and deep- cycling capability that your vehicle demands if it has a lot of accessories like running lights, high-performance stereo/AV system, winches, or hydraulics. The unique SpiralCell design provides a strong and clean power source, ensuring the safety of you, your family and the environment. The Optima battery is ideal for seasonal use because of its very low self- discharge rate. That means you can store your seasonal vehicles all winter without regular charging and still spring out of the starting block when winter is over.

  • No Problems so Far
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
My battery arrived in a snug cardboard box with holes in the sides for handles. If I remember right the cardboard at the bottom extended a bit to protect it if it was dropped 3 or 4 inches straight down. After reading the reviews here, I put a sign on my door asking the delivery person to ring the bell and wait so I could examine the packaging. UPS delivered it. I don't know if they would have taken it back had I refused it because no signature was required. In any event, the packaging was fine, the battery was fine, and it works fine. This is not my first Optima. If it works as well as the last one, a different model, I will be happy. However, I just noticed that even though this item is sold by and fulfilled by Amazon, there is a notation of no returns. I don't remember seeing this when I purchased it in January and the restriction does not appear on my invoice. This battery has a three year replacement warranty and I am wondering how that is going to work with Amazon not accepting returns. I always assumed that Amazon was an authorized dealer for items sold and fulfilled by Amazon. As soon as I find out where to make an inquiry in Amazon's maze of a help system I will report here what I find out. ... show more

  • CAUTION !!!!
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Be prepared to order another one. I have been using, charging & restoring 12v batteries for decades. These Optima’s are generally a very good battery for rugged & abusive use. (Plows, winches, any type of heavy amp draw usage) I have a plow that also has a 10K lb winch that gets mounted to the rear of the F250, and plugs into the 00 cable to the front of the truck. Thai truck has 2-yellow tops. At any rate, I have removed the winch from the equation. And I have bought several yellow-tops for my F250 over the years. One will last me 3-years MAX. That’s w/one driveway that I plow ! That’s not very good. At any rate, lately I have been receiving BRAND NEW yellow tops DOA !!! Or, after 30-days the battery is DEADER THAN A DOOR NAIL ! It’s so dead (drained) that the Optima charger CANT EVEN BEGIN THE CHARGE ! Lol !!! All JUNK !!! So, you have to TRICK the dead better by attaching another battery that’s got voltage in parallel, and attach the Optima charger to the deader than a door-nail battery & the charger will begin to charge because it’s reading the battery that does have some voltage left in it ! Once this happens, remove the good-battery from the equation & the deader than a door-nail Optima battery will continue charging. That is, as long as it will accept a charge, and there isn’t any internal damage. So, I’ve had to call Amazon & tell them that the brand-new yellow-too Optima battery they just sold me for approx’y $280 is NO GOOD ! So, they can’t have you ship it BACK to them, so they do refund your $ & you end up stuck w/a bright yellow boat-anchor ! Which really sucks because then you’re stuck w/having to properly dispose of it. I’ve even tried & tried & tried to salvage these DOA batteries, to absolutely NO AVAIL. So, you just have to order another one & hope you get the luck of the draw ! What I think is happening, is AMAZON buys these batteries that are good batteries, by the BULK, and they DONT get bench-tested prior to getting shipped out to customers ! I bet they get taken right off of AMAZONS dusty old shelf & shipped out w/out as much as a volt-check ! Which really is piss poor, because AMAZON could truly save themselves & us Customers A LOT OF $ & A LOT OF HEADACHE if they just simply did a load-test & then a quick charge before it goes out da door ! So, I JUST HAD a yellow top optima arrive DOA this past spring ‘21. And I’m going to order another one today. And Jesus Christ, what happens if I get ANOTHER yellow-top battery that arrives DOA, again !??? Get my gd $ back & have to keep this one too !?? Amazon will start thinking I’m pulling a fast one on them ! Well, they best not, because I’ve been a loyal PAYING customer of theirs for DECADES. So, here we go ! Let’s see what happens. Maybe I’ll be back adjusting this review !?! Either way, be careful around batteries, they can ruin your day REAL FAST if you don’t know what it is you’re doing ! Over & Out ! ... show more

  • This "Yellow Top" works great!
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I've used "Optima" batteries for years, that's why I bought this battery for my 04' Corvette "vert", I bought in Oct. 2016. On Optima's website, they said this battery would NOT fit my Vette. They did have a "Red Top" battery that would fit, which had very similar dimensions to this "Yellow Top". I really wanted the "Yellow Top", due to it overall specs. Because of Corvette's electronic systems, there is a continuous draw on the battery, which will drawn the battery down, when not driven enough. I thought this battery might help me with that ongoing problem. I decided to call Optima, to asked why this "Yellow Top" wouldn't fit. Their representative said the terminals on the "Yellow Top", were in the wrong position, or wrong ends, regarding how the battery was "supposed" to be installed. Their statement didn't make sense to me, when viewing their website's picture of this battery. I decided to take a chance, and ordered the "Yellow Top". It fits great! I've had it installed in my Vette for a couple of months. It starts a lot better than my old battery, and that's also without having to use a "trickle" charger all the time. Would I buy this battery again? You betcha! ... show more

  • Optima's are the best battery I've ever used
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I currently have an Optima in each one of my 5 vehicles. 3 trucks and 2 cars. Mostly I use the Red tops but this yellow was a better fit for the vehicle i was putting it in. You cant go wrong getting an Optima, no matter what you plan to put your battery through. (Update) I have been using this in my car for the last 3 years with no problems. It endures -5 degree nights and my car starts in the morning with no hesitation. It also preforms well in moderate summers between 95 and 100 deg on average. I park the car outside in the weather so the battery gets to experience whatever temp mother nature throws at it. ****Update 4+ years after purchase this battery is still working great. (So are the rest of my Optima's) For a year and a half this has been in my full sized off-road rig. It has a Chevy 350 with modifications, 180 amp alternator, a 12,000 pound winch and dual 14 inch radiator electric fans. I don't run the truck every day or even every week some times so when I am done with the truck I disconnect the battery until I need the truck again. It sits through the winter and summer and every time I need the truck it starts no problem. Even after years of use and sitting around I can count on it to start the truck in -20 Deg winters or 95+ Deg summers then run all day/night under harsh conditions. ... show more
