My daughter saw these on a youtube video and begged to try them. I had pretty low expectations but they're actually really cool. There was a slight learning curve to getting the right amount squeezed out of the pen as you write but once we figured that out the effect was awesome. It is kind of like silly string when it dries, not smooth lines, but it's a nice textured effect. We used a small heat pen instead of a blow drier and it puffed up and dried in no time. These are so cool! We found two things during our trial run. First, make sure you use heavy, even application. You may be able to see that my daughter’s drawing, which used lighter lines and dots, puffed up less than the heavier concentrated lines. Second, use a traditional hair dryer. I was using my daily one, which uses infrared heat and while it was working, it was taking a really long time. Switched over to a tradition Conair 1875 and everything puffed up much faster-I’m sure it’s hotter. Still takes a bit, bit it works and the results are so fun. ... show more

I was excited to try the Magic Puffy Pens, but unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to the hype. The pens don't really create a puffy effect, it's more like a wrinkle. Considering the price tag, I don't think they're worth it. They're just okay, but not impressive. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a dramatic effect. ... show more
