The lamps are solidly made and work well. They are not the prettiest lamps on the planet, but much better than I would generally expect for the price. It is true, as some reviewers have mentioned, that the ball on the end of the pull chain can bump against the body of the lamp when released, but you can avoid this if you release it carefully. The shade is surprisingly attractive for a lamp of this price. Some assembly is required, but it was pretty simple and did not take long. The shade comes unrolled. You roll it up and close it in the back with Velcro, then clip it to a top and bottom ring to complete the shade assembly. The biggest criticism I have is that the body/shaft is just a plain metal tube with enamel paint, which is fairly plain-looking, but it really does not call attention to itself. The truth is, the lamps were more attractive than we expected for the price. We really liked that it accepts regular light bulbs rather than have integrated LEDs that do not allow you to choose the brightness or color temperature. There are LED lamps that have multiple brightness levels and/or color temperatures, and you cycle through them by repeatedly pulling the chain or whatever, but we did NOT want to have to cycle through a bunch of settings every time we wanted to turn the lamp on or off, so the regular bulb is much better. ... show more

The gold brass is the perfect color and looks great, and the metal actually feels good too, solid. I got nervous when I saw the shade was attached via velcro but the material itself actually feels very strong - BUT the part where the velcro attaches does look really bad so you need to conceal that. I showed this in the pic just so you know what you’re getting. Also the hooks where the metal rings attach to stand out when the light is on and are a bit of an eyesore - you can see in the picture. It’s easy to assemble thought. I feel like a plain solid shade or pleated options would look better than the scratched look since it’s otherwise very elegant. Might end up replacing the shades. It’s the perfect size though - not too small not too big. A 3-way would’ve been nice. Pull chain is very satisfying and crisp! Pictured is with a 3000K GE relax LED bulb - it’s def whiter than I prefer but this is all I had at the time - GE has these weird/confusing products that show they’re rated at warm temps, but then they make them whiter to be more ‘natural’ or something so I don’t get it… also these are dimmable so don’t know if that throws off anything ... show more

When did lamps get so expensive-Geesh! These however were relatively inexpensive, but don’t look cheap. The textured shade really sets these off and makes them look very nice. They were exceptionally easy to assemble and seem very sturdy. They are a good size for a small night stand. They creates a warm cozy ambiance. ... show more
