Update: I unhooked the two strands and the one plugged in worked. Yay! I had to fish the wire for the second strand in through the front door and plug them in separately (thank goodness for the thin wire casings, though the thinness is also worrisome as far as longevity and withstanding these ND winters). A pain, but I’m glad they’re working. I wish there was a calmer setting. My kids can see them through their window and they complain that they’re too spastic when going to sleep at night. Not quite long enough for my house but I added an old stand at the end. They’re not as long but oh well. Overall I’d still recommend. Why won’t they work? My son said both stands worked when he plugged them in inside. Then I proceeded to spend 2.5 hours hanging them in the cold outside. And guess what? They don’t light up. Such a disappointment. Not sure if my son plugged both strands in, honestly, but that’s what I get for not checking them myself. So aggravating! Especially now that I have to spend more time in the cold taking them down to return. They’re nice and long, though. I was excited. ... show more

They don't remember last used display mode when you cut the power out. If you're using wifi plugs or timers they will always turn on in blinking mode. I wan't them to stay on and steady which is setting #8, meaning every time I turn them on I have to manually change that setting using a remote control or a button on a power supply. ... show more

Why the controller didn't work I wanted them on solid anyway. These lights cannot connect to other light types. They are a cool enough lights to look blue. Not what I wanted exactly but a pleasant surprise. I love the long strands and how bright they are. Not too difficult to untangle once I figured out a method. The media could not be loaded. These lights are a crisp, brilliant icicle white that to me has a slight bluish hue to it. Reminds me of the movie frozen. Elsa and Anna would defintely hang these lights in Arendelle.

Bought two strands of these because they connect together without using multiple plugs or remotes. Pretty cool. I do not recommend flaking out the entire 32 feet, the lights are much easier to manage if you just hang them as you go while they are bundled up out of the box (did it this way for the second strand).
