I bought this spotlight unit to light my path when I take out the garbage at night. I mounted in high on the corner of my house where it gets good (though not great) sunshine, and it does exactly what I hoped. It has a middle light and two swivel spots, one on each side, that can be positioned to light up a broader area. It always lights my way quite brightly, even after cloudy days. It actually stays on dimly until it detects motion, and then turns bright until the motion stops for 30 seconds. I cannot say with any confidence how long it stays on during the night, since I rarely get up before daylight. But it does continue to work well into the evening (perhaps much longer on sunny days than cloudy ones). I think the always-on feature is nice for security purposes, and I don't think it is really bright enough (until it detects motion) to bother anyone. I'm very happy with this unit and impressed at how bright it is and how consistently the motion detection works. Also, given its position high on the house, it is nice to know that I won't have to climb up periodically to change the batteries, since it is solar operated. I suppose the rechargeable batteries will run down eventually and at that point I will just have to replace the entire unit. But it is inexpensive enough that I'll be happy if I get a couple of years use out of it.

These are good LED lights, especially if you manage your expectations on brightness. The main, non-positionable light is the brightest and when aimed down covers a fair-sized are with light. The smaller, positionable lights allow for extra coverage areas but the light dissipates quickly and isn’t very bright. Works fine for supplemental light on the side of the house but if you want to light up an area they’ll struggle. Mounting can be a challenge, depending on where east-to-west sunlight falls on your mounting location and where you expect motion to come from, to trigger the light. The solar panel pivots but can’t fully articulate to be in sunlight in any position but it’s workable with the right mounting plan. I used 3M extreme mounting tape instead of the screws - gave me more options to hang. Battery life seems good - they come on with an always-on low light when dark (700pm now, where I live) and are still on the next morning at 530/600am when I go out for a morning walk. For ten bucks, get ‘em. But realize what you’re getting. If you want bright LED’s that wash a large area with light keep shopping. If you want a security light that shines in dark areas when triggered, these lights will serve that purpose.

In July, after searching for a simple, solar powered outdoor motion detection light to light up the north end of our dog yard area, I found these, and purchased two of these. Even though this light initially appeared to be a bit "cheap quality", it made me a believer of not "judging a book by it's cover"! I absolutely LOVE IT. I love the feature that it does stay on, low beam throughout the night, but when one of the dogs goes within reach, BAM, on comes the bright light! Literally scared the pee out of one of the dogs, until he got used to it. I highly recommend this little gem for any outdoor areas needing security lighting. I'm hoping it continues to work so great for a long time! I'm buying another for the front of our garage for sure!! Earlier this month (August), though, one of the lights quit working. I noticed one of the "cells" on the square light panel was rusted, and a considerable amount of moisture had developed inside the panel cover. I requested a return, and replacement (with no problem), and I received the replacement within 24 hours!! I love these lights, definitely still recommend them, and the seller has fantastic customer service!

It was really great at first and very bright, but Ive come to realize the motion sensor only works for like 2 hours and then it's a dull light. Yes it is water resistant but I needed it to work all night as motion sensor

I bought this in Dec. 2019 to add some visibility and security around the house, but it stopped working after a few months and was FULL of water. Unless you plan to mount it where rain won't get to it, it's going to have a short lifespan. It wasn't bright enough either (while it lasted). 6-28-20 Update: Ollivage customer service reached out immediately and sent me a replacement outdoor solar light that seems to be a better built upgrade in design and is MUCH brighter than the original. So far it's working great. I appreciate Ollivage's concern for my satisfaction with their product and would recommend them to others. It's not often that you receive such good attention from a seller. Thank you!

Huge Step Back From the Older Model – Very Disappointed I bought these because I’ve had the older Ollivage model from 2020, and that one still works exactly as advertised. No constant dim mode, no nonsense — it stays off and then activates to full brightness when motion is detected. Simple and effective. Unfortunately, this newer version is a completely different story. I really wanted these Ollivage solar lights to work, but they’ve been a huge letdown. The biggest issue is the dim mode. As soon as dusk hits, the lights automatically turn on in that low “always-on” dim setting. Sounds fine in theory, but in reality it just drains the battery for hours before you actually need real light. By the time I walk my dog around 11pm, the battery is already so drained that the motion sensor either barely boosts the brightness or doesn’t activate properly at all. A light that can’t actually get bright when motion is detected defeats the whole purpose. Then, like clockwork, they’re completely dead by around 2am. Next day? Same cycle all over again. They spend all evening wasting power on dim mode and have nothing left when it matters. If you’re thinking of using these for a driveway or anywhere you actually need reliable brightness at night, don’t. Maybe they’d work in a low-traffic patio situation, but for security or practical lighting, they fall way short. Definitely not what I expected. 😡
