If you have a big "rocket style" fire pit, and you want to take it with you to the beach, camping, etc. you will want to check this smaller unit out! This small "rocket style" fire pit is just like the big boys, but in a miniature version. It's about 8" tall with an overall diameter of 7". It's made of heavy gauge metal (housing and internal burn chamber) as well as the ash collection tray and the top collar ring. There are air channels that surround the fire chamber to keep the outside less hot (but still very able to burn you easily) as well as allow air flow to help in combustion and reduce smoke. There are three small fold-able legs on the bottom that lift the unit about 3/4" up from the surface you place it on. You can use charcoal or wood in this unit. Ash can fall into the small ash tray for easy removal, but anything that isn't burnt to powder will fit through the holes in the bottom of the unit. The ash tray makes for easy removal of the ash, once the unit cools down completely. The top cowl funnels the flame up. It would have been nice if a small grate had been supplied so you could sent down a small pan or coffee pot on the top. A small wire "poker" is provided that can also help you lift out the ash pan, and there is a fabric carry bag to keep everything together when packed. Overall, I give this a 5 star rating. It's a really nice small version of the "rocket" fire pits that can easily go with you anywhere....including in the car, picnic basket or even a backpack (if you would want it there). The only drawback that I see is the lack of a small grate for the top to hold a small pan or coffee pot. I think this small fire pit could great for emergencies and "bug-out" kits. Highly recommended.

I haven't gotten a chance to actually burn anything in this yet, given that it is the dead of winter and I don't want to blow out my smoke alarms indoors... But. It seems like it is well constructed, it's a really nice size, it has little feet you can pull out so that it sits up off of whatever surface you have placed it on, so it won't be pulling heat down onto that. It has a nice little ash tray thinggy at the bottom of the burner. My only complaint is that the traveling bag it came with was kind of stinky and seemed to have some mildew on it, but it is washable, so really no big deal. I can't wait to use this thing the next time I go camping, or just whenever the pyro in me gets a hankering for FLAMES... or I just want a drippy marshmellow!

This was larger than I was expecting, and I am delighted! My son has one of these that is a bit smaller, and that’s what I thought I was getting (I’m a terrible judge of measurements). It’s actually big enough for the kids to roast marshmallows over, or even cook a hot dog, but also small enough to take camping. It is well made—very sturdy. When used properly, it is smokeless, so I can easily use it on my screened patio. The ash holder is easy to pull up from the bottom afterward with the included hook. And it all fits neatly in an included travel bag. Wonderful!

I love having this for a small fire pit to use for roasting marshmallows for smores. This is the perfect wood burning stove for camping. It's small and lightweight and easy to store. It fits in my go-bag well without adding much weight. I like the variety of colors as well.

This little stove is made from good materials. The tolerances for all of the parts is nice. The design worked well and didn't take a lot of fire for it to start drafting properly. The height limits the performance, but it's supposed to be compact, so... it works. Puts out good heat. I'd recommend this product.

This arrived a week within ordering. It was packed nicely in a box that was then packaged inside of an Amazon box. It is easy to set up and it burns the wood cleanly. And cleanup is a breeze. This little fire pit/wood stove seems to be well made. It's solid, and the little feet are sturdy. It's a nice alternative to a full size fire pit for things like camping, or for people like me who can't have the real deal. I wish there was a way to seal off the vents and smother the fire. The only 2 options are let it burn out or drown it, both of which can be kinda inconvenient considering this is more of a travel item instead of a permanent outside piece.
