I tried it for about one hour, but failed. I asked my neighbor for help, and he tried three times and it was still not working! It's very hard to troubleshoot, because there is no phone number and there is no manufacturer to contact with. I returned it and got a refund.

Website states - "impervious to bad weather". Impervious means - unable to be affected by. I took apart my old keypad and found that it was NOT impervious to bad weather. But in it's defense, it lasted for many years. So, I mounted this new keypad in between the screen door and the front door. This should greatly reduce the effects of weather on this keypad. Plus, it is now somewhat hidden from view which makes the front door area look less cluttered. I expect this one will last even longer. I don't think many things are impervious to bad weather. Especially in the Midwest. With that out of the way, the keypad paired almost instantly with my Genie brand garage door opener. The process was simple and easy. Let me say that again. Simple and Easy. Such a nice thing when you are standing on your car's front door sill to push that learn button on the garage door opener. Instructions are easy to follow and understand. And mounting the keypad was easy as well. Especially on a wooden surface like the area between the doors of my house. The keypad also has a feature to enter a temporary password for a guest to use to enter the garage. If you forget your password, you can easily reprogram another one as long as you have access to the garage door opener inside. I also have an app on my phone that opens the garage door. Another gadget entirely and it works great but how many times do you have your phone on you when you are doing yard work. This keypad is another great option to enter the garage. Especially handy if you don't have access to the 'people door' on the garage. Mine is in back of the garage behind a locked fence. Now I can take the garage shortcut to the back yard in case I am locked out. Just another smart option to have until we are all implanted with chips to control our smart devices. LOL. Imagine - just touching the garage door and having it read a chip in your hand and open. Sign me up! The keypad appears to be well made and sturdy. I suspect it is 'resistant' to bad weather. My first one was located in a semi sheltered area and still ultimately was compromised by oxidation. Weather is a force to be recognized. I am confident this keypad will last as long and probably longer than the old one. I believe it matters where you mount it. Don't assume anything is stronger than nature. Until I get that hand implant, I will use this type of garage door opener often. Neat product. Clever design. And I really like the green lighted pad. My old one had ugly red backlights. An easy 5 stars.
