Door has only been in operation for a week, but so far so good. If the hole in your coop is already the right size, you can have it installed and working within 10mins. The “Light Sensing” programming takes a little trial and error because it uses light %. But overall a decent door for the price.

Very easy to install. Battery is quickly charged. Setting up is very straight forward. I currently choose Light Mode with Timer Off. Have been put it on for 3 days. So far everything works well.

So far, so good. My birds are still chicks so I'm just letting it do dry runs now. I have it set on light activation. There's a delay of 1 hour in the morning so they're not out at the crack of dawn and a 1/2 hour delay in the evening for stragglers. I used my hand to test the anti-pinch and feel that it might squish the chicken but will do no permanent harm. A cute little screwdriver is included but if you own a saw for the opening you probably have a real one that'll work much better. The remote's a nice idea but you have to be within 50' and dead on. My coop is perpendicular and 100' away so fairly useless. The opening is kind of small. Standard size hens will be able to squeeze through but a rooster might have a hard time. I really like the solar panel as it'll keep the battery charged & makes the door independent of an outside power source. The entire unit is made of anodized aluminum with the control panel being plastic. It should take a beating. There's a gap between the back of it and the coop so it's not watertight. Hopefully a little water in the coop isn't that big of deal. I do hope it lasts.

The control unit’s ABS-plastic housing feels solid and is fully sealed against rain, while the door itself is made from durable aluminum alloy that stands up to harsh conditions My only gripe is the remote operates at 318 MHz instead of the more common 433 MHz band, but in practice it still reaches across most yards without issue. I mainly wish it was 433 MHz so that it would work with my RF Bridge allowing me to control it from Home Assistant. Just remember to keep the track mechanism clean to maintain smooth, reliable movement and prevent damage to the gears and motor.

This door opener seems to be of great quality, the automatic nature of it has made taking care of the chickens a lot easier. I don't have to rush out to let them free in the morning and I don't have to worry about getting them back in at night as they will shuffle back and the door can be programmed to close. I have used several of the different modes, the dawn till dusk is ok but I do have one night where one of my girls was a little slow making their way back and was locked out. I have since switched to the user defined and set times for the closing and opening to give the girls a little bit of leeway. Setup was simple and the LCD is great, I have used other brands that took batteries and they were less than ideal. The solar panel is a game changer, I tested the limit switch to see how much force it takes to get the door to bounce back and I think the safety feature works great. Functionally it is a huge value with the solar panel and the all around time saver. Certainly recommend

Wow, this automatic chicken door is great! I installed it myself—just measured the opening, cut the hole, secured it with six screws, and turned it on. Super simple! The instructions for programming could’ve been a little clearer, but I was able to figure it out without too much trouble. I especially love that it comes with a remote—makes things even more convenient!
