The plug nor the buttons on the cord are waterproof so these are clearly not for outdoors and if they are used outside u have to take them.down when it rains.

I so wanted to love these lights. I plugged them in right out of the box and they were so so vibrant and pretty! I love that you could set them up to blink with music! The app is semi-easy to figure out, more so with the tech savvy. It's great that there is an attached remote, albeit not as many options as there are on the app but a great addition. I so have a love/hate relationship with these lights though. I say that due to the nightmare it is to untangle these lights! Just taking them out of the box, they tangled so bad that it took me over an hour to untangled them! After that headache, I started to get excited again about getting these beautiful lights set up to hang off the edge of my roof! Until of course I got them outside...I was so so careful to try to keep them from tangling back up again after what I had gone through the first time but no matter what I did, or how hard I tried (even getting a second person to try to outstretched them for me and hand me each individual bulb at a time), these would tangle! I finally did a "mic drop" type of thing with the lights onto my porch and went back inside...I was done. If these were designed to where they couldn't tangle as easily as they do, I would want to give them a million stars because they really are so pretty, seem to be shatterproof from my experience and them syncing to music option is so cool. Unfortunately I can't recommend these unless you have ALLOT of patients. Apparently I don't have as much patience as I thought I did because these completely defeated me. ... show more

These are beautiful lights. Powered by USB. Has plug on light string. No power source included. I used a portable USB battery pack. Have not used the app, or the TV sized remote, just the switch on the cord. Incredible vibrant color variations. Microphone in cord controller picks up sound or music when set to that mode, and the lights do an amazing light show. 20 bulbs, each able to be the same color or thousands of different colors.
