I have an old chair that I bought used a few years ago, and it was movable but the wheels on it weren't the best...they didn't roll well and got caught on the floor. I obviously hesitated buying these based on reviews, but I found these after previously considering single wheel replacements for my chair. It's only been a week but I am so glad I opted for these double wheel ones. They're the same size and similar to the wheels originally on my chair. Silent and smooth, I just like rolling in my chair now (like a kid again). I might come back and update this if there's any negative changes but so far, the only downside is that it is so smooth, that my damaged carpet mat and the carpet are dented (3+ years same spot) and so it's about the same amount of trouble getting out of/rolling over those damaged spots. I'm due to replace the mat anyway, but I suspect it will be a lot easier to get around on a non-damaged floor surface. Just FYI, if you're complaining about your inability to roll on carpet, it probably has to do with the fact that you have little to no thigh muscle or determined by the pile height of your carpet. I am not saying this as an insult; based on experience. I have used office chairs on all sorts of flooring at previous jobs, and I have weak legs but based on pile height or flooring type it was always easier. These wheels are definitely worth it so far. And the price point makes for a great value.

The wheels seem to be built well, I tried them on my Steelcase Gesture. Unfortunately they are just short enough that the center column of the chair can just touch the floor. This resulted in marks on my hardwood floor when sitting on it. :( I am now using them on a foot rest. I couldn't see anything wrong with the product other than they are a millimeter too short for my needs.

I bought a set to replace the cheap/hair-eating stock rollers on my Herman Miller Posh Express 2. It has a smaller diameter which is what I just need; allowing me to flat foot while sitting - without using slippers. Its durability and smoothness are also shockingly good - over all flooring materials I've tested it with. Overall, a pretty good investment.
