This chair is very sturdy and I like how the material of the back is breathable. The material also doesn’t hold onto cat hair which is great as my cats sometimes sit on the chair and I don’t have to worry about it getting covered in hair. It is comfortable to sit in although I will say that it doesn’t recline very much. This is good for me because I’m usually sitting up and taking notes, so if you want an office chair to keep good posture while sitting at your desk this will help, but it isn’t the best for reclining at your desk. I also like to pull my legs up to sit criss-cross, so the liftable armrests make this comfortable. Finally the head rest is comfortable by itself and adjustable, but I added a little cushion for extra comfort. ... show more

Great price for what you get. Easy assembly, great support, and okay ergonomics. I notice that I don't slump as much in this chair, however, it doesn't lean back as far as I would like and the headrest is too low for me, even when I lift it all the way up. I'm not a very tall person (5'8") so I can imagine this might be a problem for taller people. I like that the arms raise, so I can push it into my desk at the end of the day. I can also play guitar in it since the arms go up, which is really nice. At the end of the day, it's definitely worth the price. ... show more

I bought this to use at the executive desk I have for crafting. Fairly easy to put together. Comfortable to sit in, and I especially love the capability to raise the side arms when I’m working on a large craft. The seat adjustments are easy to operate, too. Unfortunately, the headrest doesn’t align with my neck & head. The mechanism to adjust it is cheaply made, and I can’t get it properly aligned for my needs. What really sucks is I didn’t even want the headrest. But, I wanted this specific color, and there wasn’t an option to purchase it without the it. I just removed the piece and the chair is comfortable as is. I had to pay an extra $50 for a feature I don’t even use though! Also, the casters are plastic so you need to be aware if you’re using the chair on a smooth surface. I use mine on the concrete floor in my basement. It slipped right out from under me when I was reaching for something on the further end of the desk. Just be careful and / or get a floor pad for underneath the chair! ... show more

This is a nice chair. I am a bit concerned that the dye from my denim jeans may rub off on the material and I didn't want to buy Scotch Upholstory Spray so I covered the seat part with an old pillow case in the same color I just happened to have. The chair itself has arms that are able to be moved out of the way and this is helpful. It's comfortable and rolls easily under and back from the desk. It easily adjusts. Beats anything I could buy from a stand-alone big box store. All they ever carry are black and brown materials. ... show more

As a remote worker, this chair is great for my changing positions. I often sit cross-legged in my chair, and the adjustable arms allow for that. The mesh is very breathable too, so I don't have to worry about a sweaty bottom (lol, if you WFH, you know). My only qualm was with the headrest: I have a long torso, and the headrest was only minimally adjustable. The highest it went stopped at shoulder height on me. Overall, I like the chair so far. It's fairly supportive, but I think it's a little overpriced as I paid about $150 for it. I'll update my review later on with how supportive it is after sitting in it for 8 hours a day as I got it for my job. It's really easy to assemble, and it only took me about 30 minutes to put together. I do think the claim in the information section that it is a good size chair for people up to 6'2" is absurd though. I am not even 5'3" and it is basically the perfect size for me. My feet are flat on the floor when sitting down on the chairs lowest setting, and the headrest supports my head comfortably. If you are over 5'8" (or maybe even 5'6") I would look carefully at the measurements for the backrest as it is likely too small. The headrest would likely lay at your shoulder blades if you are on the taller size. If you are on the shorter side like me then this is really solid option and I'd recommend it. ... show more

I did tons of reading up on the available options for chairs at this price point and eventually had to roll the dice and place an order for this one as there were so many similar stories with chairs of this style/design/look. Super comfortable chair with plenty of options. The headrest is a bit low (as was mentioned in other reviews) but I am able to adjust it a bit to raise it to a comfortable enough position. The armrest design is very convenient for storing the chair under a desk which I didn't know would be so valuable! I have had it for a little over a month now and feel it will serve me rather well for a few years. Many other mesh chairs on the market at a much higher price point will likely last as long, but I can't see the need to invest more in a Herman Miller design when this is similar in look and feel with sufficient support and comfort.
