I've had the cylinder installed in my chair for 4 days now and it works great! It does not slip/sink, which is my main complaint with most cylinders. It does not come with tools to remove the old cylinder from the the chair, so you'll have to bring your own. Another brand cylinder I had purchased (which completely broke within 2 days of use) came with two split rings which are used to separate the cylinder from the chair. ... show more

I ordered from them and I got a cylinder with no spring to it, though. Just a dead cylinder. The company sent out a new one, and it works great. I guess those things happen... but it's nice to know that if there's a problem with your order, they'll take care of you.

I have an oversized office chair from a reputable brand, and one day the gas cylinder went kaput (it was rated for 450 lbs due to it being the Big & Tall model). Under their warranty they shipped me a new cylinder, which arrived from Canada damaged and had lost most of its pressure/resistance so you could push it all the way down just pressing with your hand. Since I had already waited almost two weeks to get my chair working again, I opted to just buy a "heavy duty" cylinder on Amazon. It was delivered to the office within 2-days and is also superior in quality and construction to my previous *two* cylinders. I love that the 5.5" option gives me a little more height (I am 6' 5" and have long legs), and it isn't even a little spongy when I sit down. Although it was a hassle to me that my best option was NOT sticking with the warranty, rather paying for the part out-of-pocket...it was cheaper than most options and performs better than the original did when it was new. For this reason, it's a 5-star product to me between the value and utility I get from it. ... show more

I was not sure if this would work because the prices for these cylinders can be a difference of $15 or more. Unfortunately there were zero instructions included. Thank God for YOU TUBE! I found a couple of videos that show how easy it is to replace the cartridge. I found the best way to do the job is to use a pipe wrench first and remove the base from the chair. Then use a mallet or hammer to knock out the cartridge. By turning the base upside down one hit with a hammer and it popped out. Putting it back together.... make sure the height lever is in an open position. (put your finger in the slot and move the lever up and down. You will feel the slot open and close.) keep it in the open position. smply put the new cartridge back in the base, keep the lever in the open position and put the top on the cartridge and sit down! Now after installing it. it is a bit loose, hopefully it will tighten up with use. ... show more
