  • A Solid Scooter A Solid Scooter
Color: Orange-Max
The fitness associated with scootering is found in the forearms as they form your version of "Kung-Fu" grip. Get your arms strong. Never push a scooter by the handlebars. Instead, with one hand on the throttle you can walk a scooter up hill with one hand. The injuries associated with scooters can include blunt force trauma to the ankles and shins from the rear end and can be very painful. Of course, then there's the fall while riding. Doing a faceplant at 20-miles per hour, can be fatal. I absolutely love scooters of all kinds. This being my first off-road ride, I will never use solid tires again. This model offers a very wide area to stand, and adjustable hand bars. Turn signals are tantamount to safe driving in traffic, and I've always wanted to use the word tantamount in a sentence, even incorrectly. The under-carriage lighting is way-cool, but it's the head lights that are something out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Very bright white light circled with red. Turn on-turn off the headlight 3 times, it flashing like the fuzz pulling you over. It's fast and smooth. A fun ride worth every penny. Please Scooter Responsibly. ... show more

  • Very good scooter for the money
Color: Orange-Max
I have put about 10 miles on it and it works good. I like everything about it but, there's one thing I would change. The handle bar connection to the front wheel, does not have a fixed pin feature to hold it in place. if the bracket that keeps it together and sets it straight with the wheel breaks, you could lose balance and fall. Plenty of power and the lights are very bright. The suspension is a plus too. ... show more

  • No lo compres
Color: Orange-Max
... show more

  • Post use review.
Color: Orange-Max
The problems start with the manual, which is underwhelming starting at unfolding the scooter. There are no step-by-step instructions on how to lock/unlock the double locking fold mechanism. There is only how to fold and unfold the handlebars. What you do get for how to unfold the main assembly are 2, blurry, 1" square pictures each with a latch circled. There is nothing about pulling the lock pin, or which lever to actuate first, or how much to move the orange latch after/while using the black one (it matters), or about repositioning the orange latch into the locking pin to secure the steering column in the unfolded position. (We'll come back to the steering column later). The instructions falsely state there is a "...switch button on the base that you can press to turn the courtesy lights on the base on or off...". No, no there isn't. The lights remain on as long as the scooter is powered on (decreasing the already shorter than advertised battery life). There is a "Settings" section, but no explanations on any setting accept "Direct start". (If you wish to experiment, it looks like you may be able to adjust the speeds per speed level, but don't quote me on that.) Mechanics: The scooter is very well made and rides well in general. If you don't care about any "extras" or longer range/battery life, this beast is for you! It is solid and a fun ride. There are a few design flaws that average riders should be aware of. While the front wheel turns ~45 degrees left, but the control cables pinch when you reach ~25 degrees to the right. This is not a problem when riding but makes it hard to maneuver when walking it in narrow areas, like brining it inside after use. The front shocks slammed loudly when I road across any sidewalk joint over 1/2" in height. When I hit some over 3/4" in height, the front wheel bottomed out on the fender/mud guard. The suspension clearances are not what they need to be to function as the off-road unit this is implied to be. If you're on flat dirt or hard pack (like the ad pic shows), you're probably good, but my top speed was cut virtually in 1/2 whenever I traversed mown grass and dirt. There is no 19mm wrench in the included tool kit to adjust either the suspension to the head lights.... You will need one to aim the headlights (which work great by the way! Very bright and long reaching.) This brings me to the turn signals... They are not very visible (bright) and are hard to see in daylight. Also, remember those courtesy lights you CAN'T turn off; well, they just make the turn signals look like part of the ground effects show in the dark. The steering column keeps twisting clockwise / coming out of square with the front wheel. There is a tension adjusting quick release to crimp down harder on the slide, but I am 6' tall, 160# and have it so tight I can barely engage the cam. People with less hand strength may have problems here. The throttle is not well positioned. It is too close to the handlebar grip to hold on properly and use the throttle. It needs to (and fortunately can with a bit of effort) be repositioned to ~1 3/4" away from the grip to be ergonomic. It is also very touchy making it hard to hold a constant speed other than "max". Operation: The ranges stated in the manual and on-line are not real world. My 160# build (only 5# heavier than the stated 155# rider used to obtain the advertised range and speeds) riding on speed 2 (19 mph for my) primarily over level sidewalk and parking lots only made it ~15 miles before the battery needed recharging, not the 26 advertised. Also, Speed 1 was 9mph max for me, not 13 and Speed 3 was 25 mph, not 31. (Maybe these can be adjusted in the Settings menu, but again, there are no instruction how.) Interesting note: the manual states it is not recommended to ride on wet road despite wet blacktop being shown in the "Dual front shock absorbers" image on amazon webpage. In conclusion, the A16 looks good, rides well on hard, flat terrain, and feels comfortable. It is just not as versatile or long lasting in the real world as advertised. ... show more
