    • They grip to the front to back not side to side.
They do handle regular batteries but do not reach side to side to allow picking them up the long way that sometimes is better, but it did work even when the gap between body and battery was small. I just think these are better than using a strap on the post.

Ok..I get it...probably a simple thing to figure out, but while I was pulling trying to get this thing to open and do what it is supposed to it pinched my finger very badly. No instructions. Please include a description on how to properly open, push, and pull so we don't have to figure it out and risk our fingers. I returned. ... show more

Had to walk a car battery about 1.5 city blocks so snagged this to make it easier. Works great. The battery is fairly small in a Chevy HHR and this could not pick it up length wise. Had to go on the narrow side to side (hope that makes sense). If you have a big battery you may want to size up.
