Filling was easy, I suggest strips of clothing for beginners then bags of sand added as you improve. Gloves ok for starter set but will need to get a more improved set as you go on. Hanging was straight forward. Arrived as described and quickly on my front door.

This seems like a good bag so far. I have had it up for about a month and the contents are still settling, so I've continued to add clothes and pouches of sand to it as I use it. It should be right at 100lbs when done, and the bag's hardware seems plenty sturdy to hold it up long-term. I have used this bag a few times a week since I put it up, and it replaced another heavy bag which did not last more than a year. This bag seems much better made, so we'll see how it holds up after some time. I will continue to edit / update this review to comment on its longevity. The hand wraps which come with the bag are actually pretty good. They are actual wraps (not gloves), so you have control over how you set them up, how tightly you wrap them, etc. I have used them quite a bit and I like them as much as other wraps I own. The gloves aren't the best, but they should be suitable for a beginner. They are not very padded, so they likely won't protect your hands well from hard hits or long-term use. I only used them once and then I switched back to my higher quality pair. They are a nice inclusion, especially for beginners, but more experienced users likely won't find much use for them. Overall, it's a high quality bag. I will update this review with comments as time passes. ... show more

Great for beginners, or just anyone looking for another exercise equipment to have in their home. The punching bag feels secure and it doesn't feel like it's going to fall off at any moments which is good. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, the inner lining will go inward if you aren't paying attention to it while you're filling it with sand or any other heavy punching bag material ... show more

    • Good inexpensive beginner set
This punching bag comes with the empty bag, mounting hardware, starter gloves, hand wraps, and a jump rope. The bag is 37" long from top stitching to bottom stitching, though it will stretch as it's used. The included chain, bag hanger, and straps allows you to mount this at a useful height with 10 foot or lower ceilings. Concrete anchers and a 4 bolt mount are also included, but no wood or other bolt hardware, so you'll need to supply your own ceiling fasteners if you don't have a concrete ceiling. If you do have a concrete ceiling you'll need a hammer drill and bit to use the included hardware. The mounting hardware is not well matched - the carabiners are obviously cheap and lack any load rating or certification, and I'm hesitant to suggest they be used for anything more than 50lb of dynamic load. However the concrete anchors could together hold a ton or more - installed correctly in good concrete, though, so perhaps they're supplying high end anchors in case someone attempts to mount this onto poor concrete. All of this, though, is fine for beginner usage, which is where this product shines. The bag is double stitched where visible, but blind stitches are only single stitched. While the listing claims a four layer bag, there is no EVA layer. There is the vinyl (leather-like) layer, then a cheap foam layer, then a very thin inner lining. While this is notably different from the listing claims, it's still within expectations for a beginner bag. The gloves are very, very similar in construction, except the foam layer is tripled it appears to have the same foam and layered three pieces of it. The jump rope is matching in low quality, and the straps are ok, but they either expect you to stretch them more during use, or they are expecting smaller hands. The bag is easily filled with old cloth scraps, and maintenance in terms of adding additional cloth as it packs tight is easy. Overall, this is the bag you get when you know little to nothing about boxing and similar martial arts, or just want to see if you can stick to a training schedule before investing in a quality bag. Under light use it will last a long time. If you hit hard consistently and practice daily, though, you'll quickly wear the gloves out, then the bag. It has no place in a commercial gym or multi-user setting. It's a good start, it includes everything needed to get started (except the filler), and it's priced to match. It's starting to rip at top and was missing pieces. I hadn't realized it was missing pieces until to late. Also it doesn't give really and customer support and really no info on what weight to fill for. I have filled the bag with what was recommended but with in a week it's ripping at the top. Where the nylon and grommets and leather are. Just all around not what it was supposed to be. Expected a more sturdy material....as it is a punching bag and if it falls while you use it it could injure you or someone around you. So not safe at all...failing. ... show more
