Extremely difficult to install if you follow the directions. Better instructions are below. Step 1 says to mount the brackets to the bars (they already are). The four brackets are each in two pieces held together with two screws. As you tighten the screws, the two pieces clamp down on the existing side rails. The directions say "...Put the unmounted plates [I thought step 1 said to mount them, and they don't define what they mean by 'plate'] to the roof rail...line up holes...mount the M6L bolts into the holes." Then they caution you to "Tighten the M6L bolts after confirmed the bolt goes into the plate mounting hole. properly." and "Do not use force to fasten the bolts at the beginning to avoid damaging thread." If you follow this, there is no way you won't damage the threads. My directions: Step 1: Throw away the directions. Step 2: Loosen the large bracket screws as much as possible without taking them the all the way out. Step 3: Position the bars and attached brackets onto the vehicle. Be careful not to scratch, the rubber pads aren't on yet. They will fall off during installation if you do this in step 1 as the directions say. Step 4: Put on the rubber pads. This will require strong hands, and maybe a screwdriver. Step 5: Tighten all the screws. Good luck getting at the little ones on the bottom. ... show more

Just like mentioned above this was easy to assemble and feels sturdy, butttttt! The covered end pieces feel so flimsy and weak. They latch on with one small plastic screw thing. one of my covers flew off on my first drive. And i cannot find the manufacturer to purchase a new cover to replace it. :/

This is terrible Design and I believe Designer never assembled with actual Car. It is easy to assemble without Car, but for actual assembly with Car, it is fatal design. And Rubber Pad prevented to screw in. Terrible. My Car is 2018 RAV4. Rubber looks ugly, too.
