Works Great. A "Must Have" Tool for the Vintage Mechanic

My initial review was one star and asserted that the inductive pick-up was garbage. The strobe would stop firing above 1,800 RPMs. I was testing this with my 1976 BMW motorcycle with brand new plug wires. I decided to give this another try after re-reading the instructions. I may have had the pickup attached backwards. There's a fairly difficult to see arrow on the pick-up, which should point towards the spark plug. I put that on the right way around in my second attempt and the light now works much better. However, this is still a 3 star product. I find the strobe to be very inconsistent at idle, more consistent as you raise the RPMs. I tested this side by side with an old SnapOn timing light. The SnapOn was super consistent at all RPM ranges. Conclusion: this timing light is "serviceable", but not great. For the price I guess you are getting a decent value. It is pretty hard to get a clear reading at idle though. I would not recommend it. ... show more
