I bought this specifically to use with the Bimmercode App on my F15. The app lists this device as the preferred and recommended OBD scanner. No surprise it was also the most expensive! But there is a reason, other devices may not work. I tried a VeePeak unit and it would not connect. That unit may have been defective but I read on forums that other OBD devices also had connection errors including the popular and less expensive VGate scanner. I decided to just try this more expensive unit. It worked perfectly as promised on the first try! Connected, coded, and no problems so far. It's pricey just to use for Bimmercode (especially since BC increased its fee as well) but worth avoiding the frustration of errors. ... show more

I mainly bought this OBD to work with my route planning (ABRP) software for my Kia EV6. But came in handy to look at and clear codes on my 2011 Chevrolet Volt, that suddenly appeared after a simple service and safety inspection. I will leave that to your imagination on that score, as to what happened. But I cleared the car codes and now all is running ok. The codes prevented the Volt from charging. Now to getting the OBDLink to work. Ease of use is low rated, because it would not run well on Bluetooth. Had very difficult time getting it to pair. Finally after trying many times, got a link and was able start the OBDLink software. Once linked, I was able to update the firmware to latest version. With that done Bluetooth became 100% functional. Now I am very 😃 Update: OBDLink is running extremely well and reliably. I am now using two software apps with the interface. ABRP route planning SW and the OBDLink Diagnostics app both start flawlessly and can be run simultaneously. This is being run on a Kia EV6 GT-Line RWD. Despite the early learning curve it is well worth the price. Runs on both my Chevrolet Volt and the Kia. Saved me a ton of money to have codes reset on my 12 year old Volt. Works perfectly in my F31! Made some minor coding with lights, instrument cluster and disabled that annoying start&stop feature. All those were made in a few minutes without any issues!
