I love this technology for cooking. I can’t afford a whole new induction stove, so a counter top induction cook plate is ideal. Just make sure that your pan/pot/wok is induction ready. In other words, reacts to magnetism. Take a magnet from your fridge and see if it will stick to the bottom of your pan and it should be induction ready. Hexclad brand pans are advertised as induction ready - that’s what I’m using.

We really love this Nuwave Precision Induction Cooktop! First off, the designer's and manufacturer's choice of shatterproof glass for the top is an excellent feature which I have not seen on induction cooktops I have tried! Naturally, since it cooks by induction, the cookware used must have a magnetic plate in the base if the entire pot or pan is not made of a magnetic material – something which has become increasingly common in metal cookware, and which I've even found in an earthenware pot. The controls are the best I've seen, giving me control over the wattage it is using, whether 600, 900, or 1300 watts, which is a plus when we're traveling or camping, or when I have another countertop appliance in use at home. It also allowing me to choose from a very wide range of "relative" temperatures (low, medium low, medium, medium high, high, or maximum/sear), while also being able to adjust the temperature up or down by 10ºF increments. It heats well, though, of course, the wattage chosen influences how quickly, with the slowest to heat on 600 watts, fastest at 1300 watts. As expected, there's no heat beyond the the pot or pan on the stovetop, which is a safety feature of this type of cooktop; but it's important to remember, when getting used to using it, that the section upon which the magnetic bottom pot or pan rested, will remain hot for a while. We weren't unhappy with the induction plate we got five years ago, but this definitely has better controls, and more advanced features, as well as being more compact. It also doesn't hurt that Nuwave is a recognised, reliable brand. As the fan makes a bit of noise, I'm not sure I'm quite ready to get rid of my electric fondue pot, but we'll give this a try for fondue, and it's a distinct possibility that I shall, as that single purpose appliance takes up quite a bit of space for the amount of use it gets. This nuwave induction cooktop works great! Temperature can be controlled and set on various settings. It heats up super fact. It does require an electric outlet to use. We used this for camping as well as at home and have really enjoyed the convenience of it. The base is heavier, but stores quite nicely.

The media could not be loaded. Idk why but mine doesn’t lay flush flat. It wobbles. I think it has potential of 5 * but maybe this one missed the QC mark. Seems to be missing feet.

I ordered this to try out induction cooking and to have a backup, extra burner for the holidays or parties. When the burner is working there is a super loud fan that runs. Not really a great choice for one of my intended uses. It was surprising to find just 6 different power levels for the burner, I felt there should be more. I got to try induction cooking. Seeing it equal to gas, not so much with the limited adjustability. I was impressed by how quickly the pan heated up, as well as how quickly the burner was again cool. There are countless settings that this burner is great for, and it does what it says it will do. You need an electric burner that can run on less than 1500 watts for example, this is for you.

This Nuwave induction cooktop has been a real lifesaver. There are days where I just don't feel like taking the cover off my glass top stove. Especially when I am making a meal that only requires one pot (like jambalaya). My stovetop cover is wood and somewhat heavy. Those are the nights I grab my Nuwave induction cooktop. Easy to read display, automatic shut down when you take the pot off. Mine sits flush on my counter and is so quiet. Love it.
