This was my first experience with an induction cooktop, and although I have read mixed reviews about them, I am extremely pleased with this particular cooker. It is absolutely perfect for when we travel (my husband and I own an RV and like to visit various beaches and national parks across the country), and although we have an oven in our RV, this is quite convenient to have. My husband truly is the cook in our family however I do assist in the kitchen from time to time. This cooktop heats very throughly and precisely and allows us the benefit of making smaller meals when we travel (since it is just the two of us and our spoiled puppy), and as there are no open flames, I feel much more comfortable utilizing this in our small RV kitchen space. This would also be perfect for someone living in a small apartment (shout out to my native New Yorkers who live in tiny spaces) as well as for emergencies, such as when your 20-year old stove decides it time to stop working (which has happened to two of my friends in the recent months). Although you can only use a smaller pot/pan when cooking on this, it nevertheless is a great asset to a small living space, and I love that this gives us the the ability to adjust the temperature setting to our preference. We can also set the cook time (up to an hour) so we can focus on other things while cooking without worrying about ruining our meal. My husband recently made chili on this and was incredibly happy with the results (not only of his meal, as he is an excellent cook), but also that this cooked so well and we were able to have less pots to clean up after, and he did not have to drag out the heavy crockpot. Overall we are incredibly pleased with this and although we only use it in our RV, we are hoping it will last for several years. This is a total winner and for the convenience, ease of use and space saving feature, I am declaring it a total winner.

I have been looking for a portable hot plate to keep on hand for emergencies and travel, and thought this Nuwave induction burner would work well. I am more than impressed by this device. It is the perfect size, compact enough for easy storage and for taking on the go, but big enough to accommodate most full-size pots/pans. It has multiple temperature settings (low, medium, medium-high, high, and sear) which correlate to temperatures between 100-500F. It has 3 wattage settings, so while it defaults to 1400W the wattage can be turned down in the event this is necessary - I am very happy about this feature as I would need to use a lower wattage if I were ever running it off of our generator in a power-outage situation. If needed, there is a temperature probe which plugs into the side of the base and can be mounted on the edge of the pot with the included silicone holder. The performance of this cooktop is excellent. At full wattage and on "high" it can boil a decent-sized pot of water in about 4-5 minutes. While slightly slower than my full-sized cooktop this is certainly respectable especially for a portable device without a dedicated circuit. Once heated up it cooks very efficiently, essentially the same as any other cooktop. It does make some noise - there is a mild hum like other induction cooktops but also a sound kind of like a fan noise. It is not bothersome, but it is definitely more noise than a regular cooktop puts out. Of course as an induction cooktop you do need to use induction-ready cookware (you can confirm by checking to see if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan). This is perfect for me as my kitchen cooktop is also induction and I have all induction-ready cookware already, but important to be aware of if you don't usually cook with induction technology. Overall this is an excellent portable cooktop which will likely come with me on various travel adventures as well as serve as a back-up option for emergencies. I am super happy having this on hand.

This nuwave diamond induction cooktop is quite impressive! I have used induction burners before, but this one seems to keep the cooking surface with the temperature on the LED screen. I can set the temperature to 350°F and it makes the cooking surface come to 350°F. This is the type of precision that a lot of home cooks look for in their appliances. I also like the included temperature probe and probe holder (which looks like an egg). I'm happy that there are settings that allow me to set a temperature I'm looking for in my dish and the nuwave will get my dish to that temperature and even hold it at that temperature for a period of time. The other amazement to me is how lightweight this burner is. I can move this around my kitchen without an issue and I also like that I can turn it off completely, even with it plugged in (yes, it does still pause as well). I also appreciate the full control over the temperature I have, to move it up and down by 5°F increments and if my cooking pot isn't close enough to the element, the nuwave flashes "pot" on the screen, to say there's no cooking surface close enough to get to the requested temperature. I really like this induction burner and look forward to using this daily. Only time will tell how long it will last, but I truly hope this keeps performing well. I like how quickly I can cook my food and sit down. What used to take me an hour or more, now takes me about a quarter of that. Definitely recommend to those who need precision and even those who don't have a stovetop. I used to be in a dorm-situation and had an electric skillet, but as anyone who has used them in the past knows, they do well but there are cold and hot spots in the skillet and you are limited on what you can make with them. If I had had this nuwave induction cooktop at the time, it would've made it easier and more feasible to make a variety of healthier food. So this induction would be really beneficial to those in a small cooking area situation as well.
