I have tried induction cooking in the past but haven't had a lot of opportunity to really try it out. When looking at this product, I was interested in something that would allow me to be able to cook in other places where a kitchen isn't always available - including outside by my BBQ. I decided to give this a try. When I received it, I was really interested in trying it out. I checked a couple of pans using a magnet and the magnet stuck, so I thought that these pans would do. Unfortunately, the appliance kept throwing an E1 error - every time. I gave up and went to the kitchen. I ordered an inexpensive set of pans that promised they were perfect for induction cooking. With the induction-specific pans and this cooktop, everything worked perfectly. I used the set to brown some ground beef for nachos in our church youth room - this was fantastic! The unit heats evenly, quickly, and efficiently. You can set the temperature: hot for when you are cooking, then down to a holding temp to keep the food warm for serving. I tried it with the beef, then some beans, and then made some cheese crisps and quesadillas. Everything was wonderful! I love that this is a portable unit, and that it is so easy to use. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to prep some food and keep it warm without heading to the kitchen. The unit comes with a temperature probe and a cookbook - neither of which I taken advantage of yet - but it is nice to know it is there. The only potential drawback is the sound of a fan inside the unit that is just a little louder than I was expecting, but not so loud I would be hesitant to use it. Overall, I recommend the Nuwave Titanium Pro Cooktop.

The new version is much more user-friendly compared to the old one. I love the new preset modes, which, compared to the older version, have an On/Off Button. The new white display is much easier than the red one in the old one. I also love the overall design. I never was a fan of the Gold of the older version. The newer version is slightly heavier than the older one, but not significantly, so I would not travel with it. Overall, the old one still works just fine, but if I had to choose, I would choose the newer version every time!

This is a very elegant and portable single-element range. Very easy to operate: put the pot on top, power on, select one of the preset temperatures and press start. This will cover 90% of the cooking situations. Personally, I like the fact that it is possible to 'cap' the maximum amount of power that the cooktop will draw from the outlet for safety or just to avoid tripping a breaker. The cooktop will only work with an induction pot, regular pots WILL not work and the cooktop will complain loudly with a constant beeping noise and an error message on the display. The cooktop has some more advanced features such as programmable 'stages' where it is possible to set a small program that sets a temperature to run for a certain time and then switches to another one, I believe you can set up to 5 steps on this 'staged' mode. It also includes a temperature probe that can be used to check the temperature of the food being cooked. The temperature keys are just preset temperature values which can be selected and then adjusted up or down as needed. My only concern with this item is the noise: while in use, it makes a noise like a loud fan is running inside of the unit (similar to the noise that an overloaded laptop would do), it does not interfere with the way it works but normal electric ranges do not make any constant noises.

My wife always wanted one of these and I finally gave in. When it showed up she was concerned we didn’t have any pots or pans to use it with, but a quick check with a magnet on the bottom of our Rachel Ray cookware proved we had the right stuff. I tested the unit by boiling about an inch of water. I turned the unit up to 500 degrees and in less than 5 minutes, probably about 2-3, we had boiling water. Now keep in mind, this test will vary based on the pot, the amount of water in the pan, lid on, lid off, etc. but it gives you an idea of how quickly it can be used to heat up a pan. The unit is a little bulky, but still easily stored away when not in use. It’s also cool enough to touch and move just a couple of minutes after removing the pan from the unit and turning it off. So once it’s done, you can get it out of the way. There is a fair amount of noise from the unit when in use, but from what I understand that is typical for these induction cooktops. My wife is looking forward to having an extra burner for the next big meal she needs to prepare.

This induction cooktop packs a powerful punch at 1800W and has a compact footprint of 12 inches in diameter. It is easy to set up, and also store, and the glass surface is durable and easy to clean and maintain. The digital face is easy to read from a distance so you can keep an eye on things while multitasking in the kitchen. It heats up super fast, capable of boiling 2 cups of water in about 2 minutes using a regular stainless steel induction-ready saucepan. I also like that you can "step down" the power it draws to 700 or 1500 watts if necessary to prevent circuit overload or competition with other power-hunger devices operating at the same time. The pre-set low-med-med/high, high, and sear settings are handy for quick use with the ability to adjust those with the +/- 5-degree increments for more precision gives a lot of flexibility. The control buttons have a raised round feel to them so you don't accidentally activate them and the unit cools down quickly after use so you don't have to wait long before you can clean or store it. It also has a great memory for presets if you have recipes that you use often and the time setting is also very helpful when paired with the temperature settings to create a multi-stage cooking process that you can "set and forget" without worrying about something going wrong in between steps. It does a great job with pasta as well as frying pan-based items like burgers or searing steaks, frying or scrambling eggs, browning meat for tacos, etc. It's super versatile and will be getting a lot of use in our kitchen for sure.
