Like many other reviewers I only wanted the fixture and did not need the wiring and base. The color is white and works for what I need it to. A couple things bug me a little bit, fortunately the cover is up on my ceiling light. The edges are not dulled/sanded and if you are not careful, I could see someone getting themselves on the edges. Another thing that bugged me, somewhat related, was the center hole to hang the cover is sharp and barely fits the screw from the current fixture. I compared it to the fixture that came with the cover and it's short, too. Both my current fixture and the one that came with the cover would likely leave the cover near the bulb and I do not see what much could be done to avoid that. But, for the price, I can accept that and look for something more stylish in the future, if I choose. ... show more
