This lights up nicely. It plugs in by a usb cord but dpes not need to be plugged in all the time. It charges and then can be unplugged. Not sure yet for how long. It has a remote to turn it off and on and change the light settings. The wooden stand it came with works great.

Bought as a Christmas present for my daughter who’s 9. She’s still a little afraid of the dark. It is sooo cool and so pretty. You charge it and can use it without the chord or just leave it on the chord. You can tap the top to change the light colors or use the remote control. Beautiful lamp that’s a good value for the money. They are less expensive than the one we already owned, and I thought that they were the same lamp, but they are not. The one I had previously has an on/off button on the bottom and you can tap it to change the colors. I ordered six of these to put three away for gifts, but they do not change colors when you tap them. These just have a single plug-in on the bottom with no on/off switch. I like that the remote can control all of them in the room and they all are on a different fade schedule so they look amazing lighting up the room at night. My daughter was so excited to get this lamp and I have to admit it was pretty cool. However she accidentally dropped it on her floor while moving it and the mechanism inside that makes it work disconnected and there’s no way to fix it.
