Was drawn to this futon/couch because of the look and price. A lot of the "velvet" couches I was in love with were $700+ and I just can't spend that amount on a piece of furniture. Decided to go with this because of the reviews here. I bought the beige color (I wanted the emerald green, but had to compromise w/ my boyfriend on color LOL) and it looks soooo good! Took my boyfriend and I a little over 2 hours to put together. I would def recommend having someone help because this is a pretty heavy futon. We had some issues with the some of the screw holes, it looked like some of the black soft material had melted inside but was easy to clean out with some pliers. One of the back panels had some minor black marks from shipping, but it wasn't a big deal since I will be putting throw blankets over it anyways. I personally like that the cushions are more stiff and not super squishy. Of course, over time they will slowly get more softer. I've this futon for about a week and I just can't get over how beautiful and well made it is! Since I'm home more often now, I spend hours on this futon and never felt uncomfortable. If you are unsure, JUST GET IT! UPDATE: I've had this for about a little over a month now and the cushions have gotten softer and more comfortable. Also have used this as a futon bed and fell asleep like a baby. I actually prefer sleeping on this than my spring coil mattress! The good: After having the sofa for about 3 months, I could say that I really love it! I put this on my home office because I wanted a space where my daughter could stay while I work, and I wanted to have something to lay on when I just want to take a short break from work without going out of my home office room. I have nap here possibly for 5 times within the past 3 months that I have it and it's been comfortable. However, please take note that this is not a replacement for your bed. I think this will work for short naps and occassional sleep overs. I also like the design because I wanted my homw office to have a modern vibe and this worked well with my decor. It is also fairly easy to clean, I usually clean this by vacuuming it and spot cleaning and so far it is still beautiful and looks like new. There are also extra 2 legs hidden behind the sofa which would support it when you want to use this as a bed. The bad: The thing that I did not like about this is how far its color is on actual compared to the picture. The picture shows a vibrant ivory sofa, however what I have looks like a pale light gray sofa. To put some life onto it, I decorated it with modern pillows and it worked - I now forgot that it is not ivory :) Be realistic, this is not one of those "plush" sofa. I have seated on one from Crate and Barrel and it cost $1,000+. They are different and so are priced differently. However, as I said, it is still comfortable, but it is not the type that would sink when you sit like a plush sofa does. It's on the firm side, yet comfortable. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. However, I have to say that I finalize my purchase of this sofa with Walmart because at the time that I bought this, Amazon and Walmart has a $100+ difference, with Amazon's price being higher. I do not know who would want to pay $100+ more for the very same sofa so be sure to shop around and check prices first before finalizing your purchase :) The price range of this sofa from various retailers is huge, so be sure to really research before you finalize the purchase :) ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It’s a more established brand for a moderately priced piece of furniture Size: When laid out, it’s still pretty minuscule. The listing gives the measurements, so it’s not falsely advertised, but it is on the more compact size. It would be a fantastic choice for those that would like a mini couch in their smaller living room type space. CONS - Assembly - just sort of annoying to put together, ESPECIALLY if you only go by the manual and don’t find the tutorial video online. FIND THE TUTORIAL VIDEO, I ended up making assembly much more of a pain from being afraid of resting the couch on its back. The video made me have an “aha” moment. Another potential con is the material, and how firm the cushions are (I expect them to soften with time though, and it’s more of a meh thing instead of being uncomfortable). You’re not going to sleep like a baby in this thing, but you’re also not going to feel like you got hit with a truck when you wake up if you take a nap on it. This couch is gorgeous and firm yet comfortable. It comes in a deceptively small large box and was easy to assemble for my boyfriend who assembles all our furniture. We ordered the green velvet and though its a little more teal than the picture represents its not a bad colour and still works quite well for our space. Its sturdy! Wood frame with coils in the base so it seems like it will hold up over time. Would definitely recommend this product. ... show more
