Directions were easy. Also there's video on Amazon on how to install. However, there were four screws that was incredibly hard to screw on. Maybe I just happen to receive a defect one but it took me hours of trying to finally screw on. I didn't have power took. But it came with tools. I think it'd be easier if you have a power drill. The quality is good. It seem like it will last a while. It was packaged well. No dent, no scratch. I just wish the screws were not so hard to install. It's a comfortable chair,but it will not sit up straight at my desk. I do not always want to be leaning back. I tried to pull the lever,and the only option is laying all the way back ,or leaning back almost 60 degrees. Maybe my chair is defective. I'll see if I can get a different one .
