I used this snow cone machine today in my workplace and made about 175 snow cones! I used bagged ice from the grocer and it took 5-6 minutes to shave enough to fill the base. Having made so many, I can attest that the single serve option works, but it’s definitely an easier process to do the ice in bulk and then scoop it out. Overall, a cost-saving alternative to a commercial machine. We’re looking forward to using it again to promote associate morale. ... show more

This makes true crunchy ice snow cones like the kind at carnivals. It is NOT the very fine snow-like confection we were looking for. We tried it with small ice cubes and it did fine. You have to keep the ice going in small batches. For the snowy/slushy/slurpee, we would recommend Ninja. For true blue snow cones, this would be great for family functions or school carnivals.
