Let's face it, any waffle iron this size with tiny crevices isn't going to be that easy to clean, it's not going to get hot enough for a great crisp waffle, and getting the batter in the right spot without spilling is tough. It heats up fine and cooks great. I’ve been using it to every day since I purchased it; however, any liquid better that even slightly overflows seeps down into a gap between the griddle plates and the plastic cover there is no way to take this apart to clean it so there is just going to be a continual buildup of food particles Inside the waffle maker in an area where you can’t clean it I picked it up to wipe it off and liquid started coming out onto my hands and that’s how I knew that there was a hole somewhere so I inspected it and there is a small hole or a gap Between both griddle plates and their respective covers. Something else that bothered me but is maybe inconsequential is the fact that after one use the lettering ink on the top of the waffle maker wiped completely off.
