I was really unsure how this would work, and let me tell you, it is awesome! I had an end-of-summer pool party with over 100 guests, and I had two of these going at once! The flavor was amazing and made my work a lot less! I tried it out on Labor Day with my family prior to using it at the event, and the family loved it and its convenience. This cool looking hot dog steamer works as advertised. Have even used it to steam tamales. Nice to know I can have perfectly steamed hot dogs and buns in about 10 minutes. Works great every time. My only complaint is that I wish it was dishwasher safe. The unit comes in four pieces, the base unit that heats up the water and induces steam, a drawer to hold the hot dogs as they cook, the upper steam chamber that produces perfectly steamed buns and a lid that covers the upper steam chamber. All parts are made of plastic that is stamped with the international symbol for being food safe. The owner’s guide warns that the parts are not dishwasher safe, although that is difficult to understand as they are exposed to very high temperatures during the steaming process. The only part that should never be submersed in water is the base of the unit that houses the warming grid and plugs into a standard 120 volt outlet. I’m of the opinion that the manufacturer is concerned some consumers may attempt to wash the electric base unit in a dishwasher and advise not using one at all for safety reasons. Using a dishwasher to clean the base unit would be akin to tossing your electric toaster in the dishwasher. The other three pieces are hand washable. Due to the very nature of the product, being essentially a steamer, the high heat produced easily eradicates any germs that may be present. Usually a wash down with hot water and a dish soap wand is sufficient to keep things looking good. Hand drying the parts can be cumbersome as they all have holes that allow water to drip all over. If the unit was dishwasher safe it would get an easy five stars from me. It does a great job at what it’s made for. And please, no ketchup! ... show more

I purchased thos for my grandsons birthday party but due to Covid 19 it was hoing to show up too late. To my wonderful suprose ot actually showed up within 3 days of my ordering it. Thank you Amazon. The Dodger dogs came out great. I did take some of the other reviewers advice and wait until the dogs were 5 mins. out from being done before putting the buns in and also covered the top with a paper towel to catch up the built up condensation. They all turned out great. The machine was a hit! It was also very easy to clean. Less than 5 mins. to wash and dry and put it all up. The water level indicator was a little bit hard for me to see at first, but thats only because I didn't put enough water in it to begin with. Overall this was a great purchase and my teen kids loved the hot dogs so much its earned a permanent spot on my countertop. ... show more

I've had this for about a month now. And so far it does great. I've made hot dogs, bratwurst, smoked sausage, and kielbasi in it so far. I have used beer and water to steam with. I have also added seasoning in the liquid and boy does it make the flavor. I love it, It's a great alternative to the grill when the weather isn't cooperating and sometimes I just want the different flavor steaming gives you. It's quick and easy. Fill it up with your meat and liquid, (DON'T put your buns in till the very end or it will be a soggy mess) turn it to high and in 20 minutes your ready to eat. Clean up is a breeze too. Dump out any remaining liquid and wipe everything down with a paper towel. Hope this helps, so far I'm really enjoying it. ... show more

This is my review of Nostalgia hds248coke Coca-Cola Hot Dog Steamer today I have tested my acquisition, I am really happy with it, starting with the packaging, a very striking box and collector's personalization, the machine comes well protected and ordered, disarmed and then tested, this time prepare 16 sausages which size is small and fit perfectly with the perception that they can fit more than 24, which indicates the instructional, the bread is of regular size but they did not fit 12 but 8 so I have no problem, once the water container is filled I included a little spice in it and I perfectly flavored the sausage, then I armed my machine and put it in the strongest temperature and Nostalgia promises in 20 minutes they were ready and the bread very fluffy, all with a lot of steam, then I put the sleep mode and kept me warm for quite a while all the products without damaging their quality. I highly recommend this device, it works excellent and I already understand your demand to buy it, for its price it is worth it and has a presence that makes you want only to collect it and not to use it.
