So let me just start with this is a very nice party piece or a good idea for date. My girlfriend and I used this one on night on a pretty large variety of snacks and it went absolutely amazing. Worked exactly as it said, wasn’t to loud, and was really easy to assemble/disassemble and clean. Now this is where it gets crazy. My girlfriend decided it was a good idea to use a spoon to cover cashews in chocolate. So she proceeds to place the spoon under the chocolate and to to our surprise one of cashews DROPS into the chocolate catch tray on the machine, TRAVELS into the spiral cute that dispenses the chocolate and LAUNCHES the three domes covered in chocolate into the air. We ordered this for my wedding, it was an absolute hit for the kids. So here are the cons: 1- The fountain does not melt the chocolate it only keeps it warm, so if you plan on having a outside wedding like I do invest in one that’s made to melt the chocolate because it was harden and will stop flowing. 2- it is absolutely terrible trying to clean this once the chocolate hardens. I feel like the sole use for this product would be just to look at it. It says to use 24 oz of chocolate and any less than that it will not have the sheeting flow effect. So as soon as you start dipping fruit into the chocolate you need to constantly be replenishing it. It took me quite a few tries to figure this out and what kind of chocolate to use and what oil/fat I should be mixing in to make it thin. It must be the right consistency and the right amount and you will have to experiment with any kind of cheese or chocolate or any other fondue you want to use. Once you get it working right it's almost worth it. But it's also not extremely easy to clean. If you aren't so worried about the aesthetic just get a fondue pot. That is so much easier. The warming plate on this fountain also didn't really keep the chocolate warm enough to continue flowing properly. It would start to harden on the edges and as it went through. But I learned that raspberries dipped in Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers is SO delicious. ... show more
