We bought this pressure washer and it took about a month to arrive, then once we got it plugged up it threw the breaker and trashed the solenoid. So we replaced the solenoid then it blew again and also blew the motor. The warranty will not cover it so we literally wasted $1,400. We even had to pay $40 just to get a warranty inspection. Never would buy again from this brand absolute terrible customer service. **Update, we bought a brand new motor for around $400-$500 and put on it, and now the water pump needs replacing.     • Overheating problem, no warranty
Just as another reviewer REPEATEDLY experienced, the sprayer solenoid begins smoking while using anything higher pressure than the white tip in less than 15 minutes of use. The heat sensor is set ENTIRELY TOO HIGH for long term life of the motor. The motor gets so hot it leads to oil seal failure on the pump shaft. Between the water leak at the handle, the oil leak from the pump, the smoking solenoid and motor and the heat cutoff issues right out of the box, I returned the unit to the nearest store 3 days after home delivery as instructed by corporate Northern Tool. At the store, I tried to explain the symptoms and issues of the sprayer to the local store service man but I was dismissed. I informed the store I was returning the unit for a refund. I was told I would be charged $40 to evaluate the defective unit. Then, the local store could not even look at the unit for more than 2 weeks and I was not allowed to be present during evaluation. As expected, the local store found ‘nothing wrong with the unit’. Someone must have wiped the leaking oil off the frame and taped up the leaking pressure fitting on the handle. The store refused to provide something in writing explaining how the unit was tested. No mention was made about using the green or yellow higher pressure tips during testing. If someone had taken me seriously when the unit was returned to the store, the evaluation process would have been different. These units have a definite heating problem that will not become apparent unless they are used continuously for 15 minutes WITH THE HIGHER PRESSURE TIPS. Buyer beware – the warranty is worthless. Without my credit card company standing up for me, I would be stuck with a defective unit. If I could go less than one star, I would. ... show more
