Just hook up 2 of the hoses it comes with. 1 side will go through and in the engine and the other side will go where you want the oil to go. I have used it to suck out the old oil and then used it to put the new oil in . Works very well on any car I have tried it on, but the time savings you get from draining the oil from a w car with the oil filter uptop. Can even remove the need for a jack altogether with a topof engine oil filter
