I open the box today, had to change engine oil on my tractor, look for instruction, and did not find any but it was not hard to figure out. I like the idea of going through the dip=stick tube it works pretty darn good. and then to fill it, I had to use a little clean oil to flush the lines out, and reeves the holes to fill, that took forever. I had stop it and thought about it. It's a 12V pump and a 12Volt battery I just switch the battery cable around red to black & black to red and it worked really well. Wow, this is a game changer First, if your on the fence, just buy it Now.... It's fully ready out of the box to do exactly as it says, pump oil The pump housing is all metal Cables look to be 14,16ga nice length with 2 large battery clamps, not alligator clips actual battery clamps. 2 hoses already attached, smaller one is stiff so it won't collapse when used and the discharge one flexible and larger to allow exceptional flow, and as a nice addition it has an adjustable clamp to hold it securely to collection container. It's extremely important and I cannot stress enough this pump is for OIL ONLY if you pump water or fuel you will starve the pump for lubrication and problems will arise, prolly not right away but be warned its not a simple fluid transfer pump its specifically designed for oil. Now, onto my use opinion I just used it to pump out my seadoo spark, which holds around 2qts of oil I followed the manufacturers instructions and ran ski to thin oil and this pump worked perfectly, I used it to suck the oil from the filter housing too, and it moves a volume of oil quickly. I opted to use the yellow battery adapter, because I have them and its way easier to carry a small power tool battery than hooking it to ski battery or any other powersport battery. The kit also comes with caps that push onto both hoses to prevent oil mess in the case The case is great, not only does it keep the whole system secure and together but it also has enough room for the battery adapter. All in all its a very well built tool that anyone who needs to perform routine oil changes on any vehicles will take appreciation to especially when draining the oil is not an option. ... show more

The Harpy Eagle Electric Oil Change Extractor Pump is a waste of time and money. It does not perform as advertised. The pump does not extractor all the used oil out of the oil pan. I tried it on both my vehicles which take 4.5 quarts of oil each. The pump only extracted about 3.5 quarts of old oil leaving at least 1 quart of used oil in the pan. I still had to drain the remaining oil out from the oil pan plug from underneath the old fashion way. I stuck the insert tube into the oil stick tube as instructed as far as it would go and it still did not suck out all the used oil. And be careful touching the pump motor, it gets hot. Although it doesn't work on auto oil changes, it may have other uses, so I won't bother spending the time or money returning it. ... show more

I really like that there’s no need to lift the car or remove the drain plug — just insert the hose, connect the power, and it does the job. The body feels solid, hoses fit tight with no leaks, and it’s easy to clean afterward — I just run a bit of clean oil through it. Size: Oil Extractor Pump
It is a good pump. It runs slow at 12 volts, not tried it at 24v yet. It also runs hot, I put a house fan on mine. The pickup 6mm/1/4" tube was about 12 inches/26mm too short, but I had some irrigation tube that is the exact same size. Note that my car uses more oil than your average car, it's a 2015 SL400 Benz. So the tube might be a good length for 90% of the cars, it is long enough for my 2008 Prius. So, they could improve this pump by: Offer a household 120v AC to 12v DC adapter. I used my battery charger to power mine as the Benz battery is in the trunk. Make the pickup tube 12 inches longer. Either include a fan or add some heat sink fins. The pros of this pump: Good case & instructions They include caps for the tubes so it does not leak all over your house. Not as loud as other pumps. While the speed is slow, it has never failed to extract 99% of my oil, both in transmission and oil pans. It works well for filling as well as extraction. It done not have problems if it runs dry Other pumps suffer from this, but this pumps seems OK if this happens. It is not the cheapest, but is well made and almost all metal. Other pumps have more plastic. I'm going to keep it and it will be my primary pump. It can be improved, but all of these small pumps have issues, at least this one seems rugged. Dave ... show more

Size: Oil Extractor Pump
I have a boat with an I/O motor so doing oil changes from the underside is impossible without making a mess. I used to have a hand pump version that went down the oil dipstick and that would take about 45 minutes WITH the oil being warm. I bought this pump and it makes it so much easier. Just hook the clamps onto the battery and slide the line down the dipstick, and i can pump about 5 quarts in 10 minutes. Comes with a clamp to hold the hose in place, as well as quick connect hose plugs to keep oil from draining out when not in use. Nice small size, that fits back into the supplied box for easy storage. Overall a great unit that would work for boats, cars, or just about anything with a motor. There's a few things that could be better but for the price, it's OK. I took a video pumping oil from the second engine. It's no where near as loud as it sounds in the video. It pumped 12 quarts of oil pretty quickly out of the 2 engines. Hopefully it holds up over time.
