I plug it in via USB and it lets off a lovely cool mist that doesn't leave the surrounding area dewy. It shuts off halfway through and again when its almost out. I have used it overnight and when I am out of the house with no issue so far. The media could not be loaded. I live in California, and it gets very dry. I would recommend getting a humidifier, any humidifier. An important note before moving on, the product needs to be plugged in to work; it is NOT WIRELESS. This one doesn't stay on very long, maybe a few hours at a time, and doesn't hold much water. I have to refill it maybe twice a day if I'm home all day. This is the first time I've reviewed something so soon, but with the price, I wouldn't mind if it broke within 3 months. It barely makes noise. You would have to try to hear it beyond other everyday noises. The light is cute, but it does jump from yellow/orange to red instead of flowing smoothly. If that bothers you, I would recommend not getting this particular product (video attached). ... show more

I bought this for my desk at work for the winter. It makes me laugh every time I see it. It’s quiet and I only have to fill it up about once every day in a half. It does shut off after a couple hours so when I notice it’s off I just click the button and it turns back on. My company sits our computer towers on top of our desks so the cord is a perfect length for me but if that isn’t the case for you you will need a much longer cord. ... show more

This is a cute little humidifier, I absolutely love it! My only complaint is that the light doesn’t have a smooth transition once it reaches the end of it’s cycle - it jumps from red to yellow then slowly shifts through the other colors until it reaches red again. But otherwise it works wonderfully! I love that it uses tap water and not filtered or distilled, though not being able to use essential oils in it may be a downside for some people. ... show more

It is very quiet and works well in a small area. With how small it is, and how inexpensive it is, I wouldn't expect it to humidify a whole room. But it works great to put on my nightstand while I sleep. The only thing I was disappointed with was that I was under the impression that it had some sort of internal battery and would charge on USB and then work wirelessly, but it has to be plugged into a USB port to work.
