This seems to be a nice humidifier, perfect for my bedroom. I love the handle to carry the water tank & the little aromatherapy sponge/compartment works perfectly with my favorite essential oils. I really was focused on the size (excellent 6L capacity so I can run it all night) when I bought it, I didn’t realize it had such a nice digital screen. Fun to see the humidity levels & useful if you need to keep a room at a specific humidity level between 40-90%. Also love the ability to switch to warm mist if needed, tried this already with a sinus infection and felt better. Would probably buy another for our main living area too. If you live in a dry/cold climate in winter, this helps! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I refuse to believe I'm in the minority on this. I put everything together per the instructions: I cleaned it with the Magic Eraser-type sponge brush they provide you; made sure all of the tape and plastic came off; and made sure it was seated *before* putting in purified water. Plug it in: no noise, just starts working. It won't let me adjust any of the settings so I just let it go. I should have known something was wrong because I was going through 1.5 GALLONS (over 6L) PER DAY. I figured that because I'm in a desert during winter time, it's probably just trying to get the air up to par. This is also only in 1 room so when the room is open at night, the humidity is probably going with the air, too. (This is in my birds' room and was intended for THEIR health.) Day 4 I come home and my birds are SCREAMING in a way I have never heard. They were trying to communicate with the motor that sounded like it was trying to go against a train. They became absolutely scared of it. I unplugged it thinking maybe something fell into the tank and was clogging it up (birds do be flying with stuff in their beaks). Went to clean it out the next day and it was in a puddle of water. When I tried to lift it from the base, the tank up top flopped. I literally had to wait for it to drain on its own. Okay, maybe my fault. Maybe I forgot a seal or it wasn't seated right the first day, just wait foe the motor to dry out and try again. Turn it back on after a week. Everything is fine for the 12 hours until I go to work the next day. Come home to more screaming. Turn it off. Try to go to sleep. After an hour, all I can hear is dripping. Go back and it's leaking AGAIN. I was VERY CAREFUL not to pour water into the middle, going so far as to removing the lid each time so it went directly into the basin (when I would also check for debris). [Gerry likes to wet his food before he eats it and there's a chance he may have noticed the air closest to the machine was wet. What I found in the clean up was that he was putting his food in the under table because the leak had been persistent just not noticeable except to him. But after the motor started screaming the first time they didn't go back near it.] I genuinely don't know why it would leak so badly AFTER being unplugged but plugging it back in didn't help, it just made the leak slower. I know it isn't a ME problem when when I push down with significant force it is still leaking--that's either a poorly designed seal and/or a build up of internal pressure. And the second time around I didn't even bother to fill it up: I only put the half gallon I had leftover from the last time I had filled it. It still had to COMPLETELY empty the bottom before it would stop leaking enough that if you moved it and the basin/tank came apart you wouldn't spill it everywhere. I'm lucky it didn't start a fire. I'm also incredibly lucky it didn't make my babies sick or unalive them. I'm on several medications to treat a genetic condition that make it impossible for me to get pregnant or have children. Make no mistake: THOSE ARE MY BABIES and we are supposed to have another estimated 20 years together. But failures like this ensure that window gets smaller and smaller every time. And I'm trying to do the right thing by them including not trying to skimp on equipment, researching PFOAs and PTFEs in products, and shelling out for the right stuff. But I'm kind of at a point where I don't want to buy anything off of Amazon. After the air quality monitor completely failed and unalived one of my birds 2 years ago, I probably should have known better. With the amount of failures this machine had, including a persistent leak that just got worse over time, I can't be the only one having problems with this. And I'm guessing that to be true because I can't find any way to get customer support for this thing. Beware this product. Beware this company. ... show more

Needed to add moisture with the heater running more often over the winter and to help with dry stiff noses. Great for those sick days as well. Love that I can choose warm or cool mist and all the different settings. Easy to fill and last the entire day. My plants love it as well.

    • Make sure to fill it with the reservoir lifted up off of the base of the unit

So the unit works very well. The only gripe, and its minor as once you know it you can easily avoid it, is that it can (and will) spill water if you fill the reservoir (the top section) while it is sitting on the base because the valve between the two is open. As long as you remove the top section where the reservoir is to fill it (which you might be doing anyways if you are bringing it over to your sink or something to fill it), then everything works fine. The operation is very quiet and effective. It was a lifesaver for my wife and newborn to help them when they both got an upper respiratory bug that was likely caused by dry winter air leaving them ripe for infection.
