    • It's OK for the money
Like some other reviewers I had to drill new holes - in my case it was for the old small footprint 4-barrel intake on my 292 y-block Ford. I also would prefer full-length welds, but I tend to overbuild - what is there is adequate unless you really abuse it.

The media could not be loaded. Hope the video attached. If you see it, this is a Small Block Chevy 5.7L (350) with an aluminum intake manifold. The logic is, look at the diameter of the 4 carburetor studs and compare all four to the diameter of one side of a chain link. The amount of lifting power of the studs is way more than the chain. What about the intake manifold? Well, my guess is that thing would take each of your 200 lb buddies on each corner and lift them easily. Its a guess, but informed by experience and YouTube (no expertise, so don't listen to me about safety. Do your own research. I am a hack, not an expert. Stay out of the way of any heavy object you are lifting). Anyway, this thing worked. It made the job a lot easier than running chain. I felt comfortable, and the clamping force didn't change. Its a good invention. This one did its job. Wish I had trusted this sooner. Again, aways stay away from anything heavy above you, no matter what method you use. ... show more

    • Could use some better welds
For the money it feels sturdy, but I don’t fully trust the welds that are on it, so I’m taking it to a friend to have it welded better. I’d rather not drop an engine cause of something minor.

Used this to install an engine into my 1968 Corvette and it held the engine and the transmission overnight with no problems. If you are worried that an aluminum intake manifold would be too soft of a metal to support it I can tell you I had a performer RPM from edelbrock and had no issues with holding the weight. ... show more

    • Worked but needed to drill holes
I found there was no holes for my 70 lemans 2 barrel carb mount. Drilled them and it worked fine. My new Edlebrock Performer manifold fits perfect for it. Siggest buy it as its a good atrong plate but plan on drilling if needed
