    • USE LOW HEAT :) lightweight, convenient, easy to clean
i got the 2 burner griddle - it does cover my two gas griddle, i tried both front to back and left to right and it fit both ways . i think this was getting such bad reviews bc people may have been cooking on high. i just happened to ALSO get a two burner cast iron griddle and cooked on high to bad results -- i learned i had to use low to medium low heat on that. so i figured i'd try low heat on this. i put butter on it (which i can't do on cast iron), put it on low and let it heat up as i prepared my pancakes. i think people's pans are buckling bc they are probably using medium high to high heat - and to this i ask the maker of both cast iron and this, why don't you write in humungous letters all over the ad and packaging - use low heat?? pros lightweight, especially compared to cast iron heats up and cooks food quickly easy to store fits on two gas burners saves a lot of time - a pan would do 2-3 pancakes at a time, this does 6. easy clean up can use butter, unlike cast iron affordable i use nonstick spray or butter on this, and nothing has gotten stuck on it, unlike cast iron cons -only fits 6 1/4 cup pancakes, unless i'm doing something wrong. a standard mix serving of one cup pancake mix makes 8 pancakes, so i can't make all pancakes at once - but i think that's a size limitation of all two burner griddles. -i have trouble flipping the pancakes because the sides of this are low, so there is nothing to stop the spatula, but i do it. i would suggest getting one with a backsplash for pancakes - this might be better for sausages etc (food that doesn't need to be flipped.) -aluminum is arguably not good for you, as it leeches into your food. when you use cast iron, the iron also leeches into food, which may be great news for anemic/menstruating women, not so great for men who have no way to release iron. -i get a tinny taste after eating food on this, but maybe it's for another reason unrelated to the pan. not sure. will test more over time, so in general i recommend it. if it's this v cast iron - well cast iron will last for years, but it is very heavy and requires constant seasoning. food can also easily get stuck on it. he loves the lodge cast iron reversible griddle/grill to make steak. i'm definitely less of a cook and way more of a convenience girl. i so wish they made this in four griddle size, the only affordable one i found is a different brand and weight 18 pounds. ... show more

Took this camping to use on our two burner stove and it was phenomenal. Super lightweight so it heats up quickly and cooks so well. We cooked everything from steak to pancakes on it and cooks everything so well. Also cleans so well which is nice when you are camping. Needed with a two burner propane grill. ... show more

    • A cheap way to add some cooking space to your stove.
My apartment has an older stove, which is on the smaller side. So every cooking surface counts. This is especially true when I make breakfasts as there are often several items that need to be cooked simultaneously. This particular griddle was on sale, so I thought "Why not?" My first impressions: small, light. It would not completely cover the stove elements left to right, which is how I first imagined it would work. However it did manage to cover them back to front perfectly fine. The good: - It is non-stick and easy to clean. - It does effectively add more cooking surface. However... The not-as-good: - It doesn't distribute heat very well. The majority of the heat is pretty much wherever the elements are and not the portion between the elements. That part's hot, it just doesn't sizzle. ...BUT the hidden benefit to this is that you can move your food items to these "not so hot" spots if they're cooking too quick. Perfect for when cooking things in batches. When I was making short ribs, it was useful to move the smaller cuts to these sections while the larger cuts cooked more. User concerns: "Warped." There is very slight warping on mine but I don't really notice it when I cook. It is more obvious with sauces or other liquids as they will usually pool up at one end. Be cautious, especially with omelets. I think this warping does cause the griddle to shift slightly during use. But that's nothing a little nudge with your tongs won't fix. "Cheap material" It is definitely not cast iron. But I wouldn't call it "cheap": It's light. It's aluminum. It might not feel like a solid slab of metal, but it holds all your sausages! Overall this is a decent griddle if you need some extra cooking space for things like pancakes or bacon. And I imagine it would be good for camping as it's very light. If you want to do serious cooking, then you probably want cast iron. But if you simply want more space to cook on in your bachelor pad, you could do worse. ... show more

Already used to make burgers and pancakes a few times and it works great. The size is perfect on the stove. Some other ones have come up a little short and the flame will come over the edge a little, not an issue with this one. Non-stick is holding up great but I also only hand wash it. After pancakes all I had to do is wipe it with a cloth so it’s pretty easy to clean up. Even with burgers all the cooked on mess has just wiped right off. ... show more
