For the amount of money this thermostat cost it absolutely does its job .it's flexible across multiple platforms of service. Will work with GAS,ELECTRIC, OIL FURNACES . Has clearly marked wiring panel inside the mounting frame of the thermostat. You will need a SMALL PHILIPS SCREW DRIVER also commonly called a "#1 Philips" screw driver. And a medium size Philips screw driver or "#2philips " for mounting base or frame of the ther thermostat to your wall. It provides hardware including sheetrock screw inserts no need to find a stud in the wall to securely fasten the unit to the wall. Granite it's not programmable you can't designate specific times in days that you wanted to be warmer or colder in the home but it does as it's described as it regulates the temperature that you set the home at you can increase or decrease that temperature as you like it allows you to just turn the fan on separately as well as select between the furnace being on off or Auto. And it does all that with a large display that's easily readable by people that are possibly elderly or where corrective lenses contacts Etc and it's also got a large up and down here or that's easy to see and feel for that matter so you know what you're doing as far as the economics of the unit is well laid out instructions have visual as well as plenty of literature to get you through the setup on it any DIY or can set this thing up with like I say just two screwdrivers. Seems like a great value I will check in with how long it lasts if there's any issues in the long term.

Burned up my transfer switch on my hvac unit right in the middle of a snow storm that brought a blizzard to the Deep South, requiring a tech visit and gobs of money to repair. Also this is a 1H/1C so be sure you know what thermostat you need.

This thermostat works only at 24V DC! The blue light and relay work only when connected to 24V. The batteries are used only to retain the time and programs in the event of a power outage. This unit has a programable temperature swing feature, with a maximum of two degrees (Celsius). However, the two degrees are calculated up and down from the set temperature, which results effectively in a 4-degree swing (plus the time it takes the heater/furnace to heat the space). The unit features a temperature calibration feature, which can be very useful. The thermostat is relatively easy to program, but the wires can be tricky to install (very tiny connectors). It comes with two installation/instruction manuals, which are not very easy to make sense of... It is adequately priced at $23 for the features and quality provided. There are no daily or seasonal programs available; only a 24-hour. revolving setting! As for durability, time only time will tell.

Non-professional hint- take a picture of your original wiring and label everything. Do that, follow the instructions (have a good flashlight so you can see it clearly!) and you'll have it done in about 20 minutes. I like the simplicity of this unit, the way it lights up clearly when I hit a button, and the way it just blends into the background on the wall. Nothing flashy, no long instructions to remember, no wifi to go down. Basic economy that does what its supposed to. To me that's worth more than a fancier model.

I had one of those very old "not good for the environment" ones and the cover broke off, so you could not see the temp in the house. My setup is oil heat, and just heat with a 2-wire setup (NO C-cable), the book with it comes with typical wiring for it (for all types of setups). With no C-cable, you will need to supply 2 batteries for it. Overall, accurate, easy to use and digital display, not bad at all to setup and cheap too. No issues...

Overall this is a nice design, but I did not complete the installation and I'm sending it back. Why? The batteries. It uses two AAA batteries and there's problems with that: 1. I've learned from a previous thermostat that AAA just don't hold enough power to last more than a couple of months. I'd be changing the batteries 2-4 times a year. 2. The batteries are very difficult to install and remove. I was really fighting with them. They kept popping out. See the photo. Then when I tried to remove them, I could not pry them out with my fingers. I had to use a screwdriver to get in and provide enough pressure. Basically, the spring for the batteries is overkill, making it difficult to install/remove them. Plus...the manual is confusing as well. So, I decided not to keep it.

Ordered this for a gas heater in my shop. It works great as it can be set all they way down to 45 degrees, which is all I need sometimes in the shop. If you need something to hold just above freezing this won't work, but some house ones only go down to 50 or higher so I was happy. Instructions were easy enough, not terribly translated. Seems as good as my name-brand thermostat in the house.
