Large, easy to see numbers. Tells humidity as well. Easy to wire. If you have a heat pump or gas it works. You don't need a common wire (blue). Works off AAA batteries not included. If you have a lennox heat pump you wire the white wire to (o). Don't let your wires touch because you can blow the 3amp fuse on the control board. Shut power off just to be safe. ... show more

    • Excellent thermostat. Simple and easy to use. Large digits with bright backlighting.
This is a very nice, and functional, thermostat. No battery backup is fine for me, as I can see my air handler is down if it's not working. The most important thing to remember when replacing any thermostat, is to turn off all the power to the unit from where the power is coming from, that powers the thermostat. On Heat pumps, this would the power to the air handler indoors. If you fail to turn the power off, you will short out the 24-26 volt transformer that provides power to control your units. While the transformer is relatively inexpensive, and easily replaced, most folks will end up calling in a repairman to get their system back in operating order. Depending on how they feel that day, and how slow business is for them, your repair could cost between $250 to $17,000 if they decide to tell you that your system is old, and needs to be replaced. ... show more

You must get an HVAC electrician to install. Too complicated! I had a regular electrician friend try to install it but it was too complicated. Then I had a friend of a friend install it because he’s an HVAC Technician. He was able to do it but mentioned that it’s quite unusual. Works great so that’s why I gave it a 3! ... show more
