I purchased the nocs standard issue 8x25 binos as a second set, wildlife observation is difficult with 2 people and 1 pair of binos. The clarity is decent not great, you may find a cheaper alternative that works as well. The durability of the standard issue 8x25 seems really good, they've survived being treated like toy binoculars by a five year old on a woods walk.....so for the elevated price point, relative to features it seems you get an extra measure of durability. The rubber armor is great looking and the color options give the nocs great findability inside of a pack/dry bag. Overall the standard issue work well for their intended purpose as a second set for less than careful hands young or old. My wife and I love to sit on our back deck and watch the sunrise while sipping our coffee and tea. We have a series of bird feeders on a rise about 30' from where we sit so between the sunrise and the birds, it's a fantastic start to the day. I bought her these Nocs as a birthday gift last year and she uses them nearly every day to look at the birds, look at far away trees, etc. This year a woodpecker pair set up a nest in a hollow branch of an oak tree and it's a delight to watch them go into and out of their little entry holes close up with the Nocs.
