I see other negative reviews but I can only tell you that I’ve owned mine for almost 4 years without issue. Also, I am at the maximum weight too. The cross support bar broke on my expensive “heavy duty” chair. It barely fit between doorways and would often crush my knuckles getting through. It was 35 in wide and hard to maneuver vs 25 in wide for this model. This will even fit through a standard bathroom door. Easy to control, no slippage and easy to fold and put in the trunk. Will also fit in our backseat. The handles feel loose but are securely fastened and allow some play in the backrest for folding. I recommend adding a 4 inch pad that I bought on Amazon. ... show more

This is a very nice wheelchair. Very convenient to use and easy to transport. Just remove the parts for the leg to load in the trunk. They are easy to remove and put back. Parts seem sturdy and smooth and easy to maneuver.

This is a great chair for the price. It is light enough so most people can handle it. It is made of steel so it will probably last forever. There are two screws on each of the brake levers that need to be tightened frequently. I glued a magnet to a small wrench that i keep on the chair. The chair is too wide to go through some of my doors. Because the chair folds outward, I used a leather belt on the bottom to keep it from opening all the way. It fits through the doors very nicely while still maintaining its proper shape. The belt broke after a week, so I replaced it with a cable and clamps. A turnbuckle would have been better, but I didn't have time to make one. ... show more

At the time my husband weighed 330 lbs and it still functioned perfectly even though this wheelchair says up to 300 lbs. He now weights 290. I needed a wheelchair that would go through all our 29" doorways. It works perfectly. The chair measures 27 inches wide from the outside wheels. If your doorways are 29" this will work very well for you. It also folds easily and I can lift it into the back of my car. I'm only 4'11" and 76 years old. We needed a wheelchair with raised leg option and decided to go with this brand/model. We are very pleased with this chair. Came to us already put together, just had to attach the legs. It was very easy for us to attach legs and to adjust length. Maybe it was easy because we have other wheelchairs and these legs attach the same way. We also found out that the Drive brand leg attachments fit on this chair. Nice they seem to have standardized wheelchair parts. This is a very comfortable and sturdy chair. It is easy to use, fold and remove the footrests. But it is definitely not 35 pounds. Maybe 45. It is hard to lift into the trunk for someone with medium strength.
