Bought this for a golf cart. Know we are able to see the charge on the batteries. It also helps with regulating the charge. Takes out the guessing to which battery needs changing when you have multiple batteries.

This charger is amazing. I can charge my two lithium boat batteries along with two lead acid batteries at the same time with no worries. No adjustment needed after initial set up. Charger is expensive and a little heavier than expected but we’ll worth it in the long run.

You can just tell this is a high quality product when you open the box. I purchased the 4 bank unit and it is very heavy. Wiring is thick, in-line fuses, easy to read LED's, quality ring terminals, clear instructions. I charged 3 batteries at once and the unit was not hot to touch. Overall think I made a very good decision. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars is because the mounting design and hardware supplied is poor. Only two mounting holes on the unit and I will not use the tiny screws supplied to mount it vertically. Plan on acquiring your own hardware and hope that the two mounting points can hold it in tough waves. The 2-bank unit it is replacing from another manufacturer had mounting holes on all 4 corners and came with beefy, high quality SS hardware. ... show more

    • Temperature compensation doesn't appear to work with lithium batteries
I expected the charger to use something close to -9mV per ℉ per bank for temperature compensation but I checked the voltages at different charge cycles, and they were exactly the same at freezing as they were at room temperature. With Victron chargers the temperature compensation made a huge difference with my scooter that I keep outside allowing for about a 150% run time improvement in freezing weather. But hauling around four Victron chargers was impractical so I thought this would help. But no difference between the NOCO and other lithium chargers that don't provide temperature compensation. So, I'm thinking temperature compensation on the NOCO is for lead acid only. I wish they would have mentioned that somewhere before I bought it. Maintenance mode also appears to only be supported for lead-acid because after a full charge of LiFePo4 batteries it appears to disconnect indefinitely. Most quality lithium chargers will go to storage mode after a full charge cycle keeping the charge at 13.75 volts (or about 14 volts at freezing when temperature compensation is supported). But on the NOCO, I monitored the voltage three days after a full charge with the unit still powered on and connected and my newish lithium batteries eventually settled at about 13.5 volts which is what you would expect in cold weather with no charger connected. I ended up keeping it though, continuing to use the Victron chargers at home and installing this on the scooter for charging on the road. I have a portable 48V 10A charger that I used on the road but it only charges until one of the batteries reaches full charge and then the BMS cuts power to the circuit and the other batteries never get to full charge, so I prefer separate chargers for each battery which the NOCO provides. As a bonus, I found I can use the portable 48V charger at the same time as the NOCO, with a combined charge rate of 20A- cutting the charge time in half while on the road. It was difficult to mount the NOCO to the scooter though because it only has two indented holes on either side, and I could not find the right brackets for the hole placement. I ended up mounting it with heavy duty plastic tie wraps, but one of the tie wraps broke the first time I rode the scooter because the charger is so heavy. I then redid it with stainless steel tie wraps and so far, they've held up. ... show more

My boats 4 batteries had been drained a lot and they were not holding a charge like they use to. 2 friends talked me into finally buying the 4 channel model.
