Lots of problem, flat rear tire after only few months rides, can’t turn on the scooter randomly, need to reconnect the cable to wake up the whole system, they are unwilling to refund or exchange new scooters after 3 months purchasing, you gotta mail the scooters to center to fix the problem, if you rely on the scooters for commuting to your work daily, I will say “ Nope” definitely, suck scooter and suck service

Initially great, but the first failure on one scooter was that the bluetooth module failed. From that point on only operation with the NFC card was possible, without any app tracking or configuration possible. The second scooter gave Error #7 and I have to send it back for repair also. Both scooters have less than 50 miles on them.

I purchased another scooter from NIU and loved it. Going on 1200 miles no issues, 3 years. Saw the Air and waited, price dropped and figured I would buy it considering old scooter only hit 17mph. This one arrived - Weight great, speed great, looks good but….arrived with the grip decals peeling and warping like stored in high heat or humidity, had to apply my own grip tape, have a reoccurring abnormal vibration warning, headlight was loose and wobbled with noise, had to gorilla glue it, and the fact that you can’t move it with power off or alarm will kick in is ridiculous, no way to turn it off only mute so every time you move it it has to be on, ran through a slight puddle and got error light. Worked when it dried out but old one would take significant puddles. Can only turn on with card, annoying. Took it to flagship store in nyc and found it closed with no new store. Bought the first one at flagship. I think it will be hell if I ever need to take advantage of the 2 year warranty. Dropped a thousand on this and now have nowhere to take it to get fixed and sending it back scares me more. I think NIU was trying so hard to reach 20 something pound mark that they forgot the thing that made them great, I was looking so forward to this scooter and it seems they just don’t take the time to tie up loose ends in a mad dash for 26 pounds. And I fear this scooter was a failure and crashed company and that’s why prices on all models are dropping and flagship store no longer exists. When I bought the first time I felt a company behind me now nothing. SMH

This is my very first electric scooter and did quite a bit of research. I have the looks, the functionality, and customization from the app. I have no issues from the app so far and still learning. You can customize the ambient light and the smart lock is nice. But of course that doesn’t stop people from stealing it. It’s also connected by Bluetooth for unlocking the scooter or nfc card. They gave you two cards to start it up. The headlights are bright. A huge turn off was the board tape is peeling off straight from the box!!!! Like I spent 800 bucks on a scooter and already peeling from day one. Now the scooter is 1200!!! All of the edges of the tape is curling up and I pressed it down so many times! So I guess I have to buy new tape. Then out of the box, styrofoam was messy. All you have to assemble is the handle bars, so easy peasy. The screen is already getting scratched easily and I only placed the nfc card on it three total times. Expect the range to be much lower and false advertising from Amazon saying 23 MPH. It’s hard to keep up to 20. Honestly 20 is enough for a scooter and my commute. That’s my main goal was to save money from gas from my jeep.

Not absolutely recommend to buy!!!! I bought the most expensive because I expected the functions that the seller provided. However, some functions are not working. I tried to use it but finally why I paid expensive without some functions as per advertisement. Just past one month, it has more problems. The seller does not accept the return and asked me to send to the manufacturer. The solution is very bad. Why do I proceed many steps? It is my fault? So, finally I do not know other problems will occur soon or not. After service is very important, so I recommend you to buy other brands. After I reviewed the product as above, the NIU company contacted me back to offer the free return. But the scooter that NIU allowed to return is working. I need to get a full refund from the scooter that NIU could not solve the problems. NIU asked me to contact Amazon. Amazon charged restocking fee $189.80 because I returned late. I returned late because I thought NIU could solve the problem, but finally NIU could not solve. If the problems can be solved, I do not need to return and I do not been charged extra fee. Again, it is not my fault why I needed to pay $189.80. I recommend you to return suddenly if the scooter from NIU has problem, you should not help NIU to wait for solving the problem because after service cannot be solved. Then, you may be charged restocking fee, like me. I feel upset with Amazon as well because it does not care how I felt.
